Abstract:
A running gear includes an axle assembly of a first type and an axle bracket hanger pair mounted to the first type of axle assembly and being capable of having multiple axle assembly types mounted thereto. A trailer includes an axle assembly of a first type, an axle bracket hanger pair mounted to the first type of axle assembly and being capable of having multiple axle assembly types mounted thereto, and a bed attached to the axle bracket hanger pair. A method includes providing an axle bracket hanger pair capable of having multiple axle assembly types mounted thereto, selecting an axle assembly from the multiple axle assembly types, and mounting the selected axle assembly to the axle bracket hanger pair.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a steering linkage device which transmits a user's input motion to at least one wheel of a vehicle, wherein the steering linkage device produces an output motion of a particular magnitude. The ratio of the magnitude of the input motion to the magnitude of the output motion varies, depending upon the magnitude of the input motion. The steering linkage device enhances the steering control of vehicle users by varying the steering responsiveness for different steering motions made by the users.
Abstract:
A tandem handle lock-out tool for use with a tractor trailer having a first arm and a second arm disposed at about 90 degrees thereto. A first arm may have an aperture for positioning the tool over a tandem handle. The tandem handle lock-out tool may be slidably positioned with an end of the second arm positioned against the tandem axle assembly to maintain the tandem handle in an extended position. The tandem handle lock-out tool may also have a channel disposed in the second arm. The tandem handle lock-out tool may be formed of a flat bar stock with a bend therein or two pieces of bar stock being welded together.
Abstract:
A tridem axle suspension for use in a vehicle having a front axle, a medium axle and a rear axle mounted in tridem relationship. It makes use of rigid beams to support the axles. It also makes use of equalizers to interconnect the beams, and it is devised in such a manner that one end of each beam is free to slide within the adjacent supporting structure. This suspension is very simple in structure and very efficient to equalize the load of any axle over all the axles of the tridem. When the axles are motorized, the suspension is also efficient to balance the pulls exerted by the wheels supported by the axles.
Abstract:
A cross-car suspension system with MacPherson strut replaces the lower control arms, coil springs, and anti-roll bar assembly in the prior art with a simple composite beam. By carefully designing the shape of the beam, the material system and the pivot locations, the ride and roll stiffness and camber and toe characteristics of the original prior art suspension system can be preserved while significantly reducing weight.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for reducing rattle in a column mounted electric power steering system. A method of reducing audible noise in a steering system, generated by road impact energy and transmitted through a transmission medium, which includes a column mounted electric power steering system, including interrupting the transmission medium; and absorbing the road impact energy through the steering system. A column assist isolation system includes a sleeve disposed at a housing of an electric power steering system, a first bushing disposed at a first end of the sleeve, and a second bushing disposed at a second end of the sleeve. Both the first bushing and the second bushing include a compliant material.
Abstract:
A steering linkage assembly (10) having a resistance assembly (30) for resisting turning movements of a steerable member (17), and a trim assembly (28) for remotely adjusting the length of a linkage (10) between the steerable member (17) and a frame member (12). A trim valve (52, 52null, 52,null 301) is operable between closed and open positions for allowing a trim piston (36) to move from one locked position (C1) to another locked position (C2) to change the length of the linkage (10). A liquid pressurized by a gas pressure source (88) is provided to the resistance assembly (30) and to the trim assembly (28) by a single pressure accumulator assembly (275), or by a dual accumulator assembly (75, 175) providing liquid at a trim pressure and a resistance pressure. The stroke of the trim piston (36) is sufficient for the fluid systems (28, 30, 75, 175, 275) to remain pressurized at all times.
Abstract:
A steering control mechanism for folding collapsible kick scooter includes a footplate having a fixed front mount, a steering control column mounted on the front mount and turned relative to the footplate between a vertical operative position and a horizontal non-operative position, and a locking mechanism adapted to lock the steering control mechanism between the vertical operation position and the horizontal non-operative position, the steering control column having a bottom yoke, the bottom yoke having two arms respectively pivoted to a transverse pivot in the front mount; the locking mechanism comprises a locking lever pivoted to the front mount above the transverse pivot and turned to lock/unlock the bottom yoke of the steering control column, the locking lever being extended over the bottom yoke and having spring means pressed on the bottom yoke after the steering control column has been turned to the operative position, and brake means provided at the bottom yoke and adapted to engage a stop face of the locking lever.
Abstract:
A bicycle derailleur gearshift position indicator includes a housing holding a gearshift position indication member, the gearshift position indication member having indication plates corresponding to the gearshift positions of the derailleur system of the bicycle and a view window through which the bicycle rider views the indication of the gearshift position indication member, and a cable take-up wheel suspended below the housing and rotated with the shifters of the derailleur system to move the indication plates of the gearshift position indication member.
Abstract:
According to the present disclosure, a propulsion system is provided to assist a caregiver in moving a patient support about a care facility. The propulsion system is detachably coupled to patient support to permit storage of the propulsion system or use of propulsion system on multiple patient supports.
