    摘要: A fish recompression tool comprises an elongate body having and internal airtight chamber, an attachment member, a locking member, a piston, and a spring within the airtight chamber that engages the piston. The attachment member may switch between open and closed configurations, such that a fish is attached to the device in the closed configuration. The attachment member configuration is controlled by the locking member, such that a locked configuration corresponds to a closed configuration. The attachment member switches to the open configuration when the piston moves in response to reaching a water depth that results in the external pressure surrounding the airtight chamber being sufficiently greater than the internal pressure within the airtight chamber and the spring force on the piston. In preferred embodiments, a plug attaches to an open ended elongate body and may be moved to set different unlocking requirements (i.e. different release depths).

In some cases, the causing the cable to surface may include: fracturing a frangible link wherein the frangible link, before the fracturing, affixes position of a piston within a cylinder bore of a housing coupled to the geophysical survey cable, and the fracturing of the frangible link responsive to pressure exerted on a face of the piston as the geophysical survey cable reaches or exceeds a predetermined depth; moving the piston within the cylinder bore; and deploying a mechanism that makes the geophysical survey cable more positively buoyant.

    摘要: A gear rescue system is configured to attach to gear in water and to deploy when a deployment water pressure is reached. The gear rescue system includes an upper housing mechanically coupled to a lower housing and an upper cap. A line spool is housed within the upper housing with some line extending through the lower housing and attached to a locking attachment ring. The locking attachment ring is attached to the gear. A blow out plug is detachably coupled to the lower housing and configured to blow out when the deployment water pressure is reached. When he gear pulls the gear rescue system to the deployment water pressure, the blow out plug enters into the lower housing causing the line spool to deploy line enabling the gear rescue system to rise to a surface of the water.

    摘要: A hydrostatic release mechanism is provided which comprises a sealed housing having an interior volume and a tunnel adapted to receive a tether extending therethrough. A depth sensor is mounted to the sealed housing and has a diaphragm covering an opening between the interior volume and the ambient conditions. A trigger is contained within the sealed housing and is operably connected to the diaphragm and a firing mechanism. The firing mechanism is actuated by movement of the trigger in response to inward movement of the diaphragm when the pressure on the diaphragm exceeds a predetermined force. The firing mechanism includes a piston having a blade which moves in response to the expanding gases from a pyrotechnic cartridge and passes through the tunnel thereby severing the tether extending therethrough.
