Abstract: A smart clothing and backpack system enables a user to perform many actions. The smart clothing includes circuitry and/or is made of a conductive material enclosed in an insulation material. The smart clothing includes a set of sensors configured to detect body information. The smart clothing includes multiple electromagnets configured to adjust a size of the smart clothing. The electromagnets are configured to have an increased attraction to make the smart clothing tighter on the body of the user. The system includes a smart backpack to communicate with the smart clothing. The smart backpack includes a Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) reader configured to detect RFID tags on or in items within the smart backpack. Many other features are able to be implemented with the smart clothing and backpack system. The smart clothing is able to include a wetsuit configured to communicate with a surfboard and/or a backpack.

Abstract: An alignment structure for a battery pack and a propulsion module for a powered watercraft. The alignment structure is configured to be received in and affixed to a powered watercraft. The alignment structure includes a first alignment feature configured to receive a removable battery pack and a second alignment feature configured to receive a removable propulsion module for propelling the powered watercraft in a longitudinal direction. The alignment structure extends along the longitudinal direction to provide a space for receiving the battery pack and/or the propulsion module. The first alignment feature and the second alignment feature are together configured for positioning and fixedly locating a battery pack and a propulsion module relative to each other so that the battery pack and the propulsion module having been received in the alignment structure are individually removable.

Abstract: Conventional surfboards enable a rider to catch a wave and ride towards the shoreline while utilizing the power of the ocean to enjoy the ocean waves uniquely. A low-profile motorized surfboard has been developed to assist riders who may have a disability or struggle to get into the position necessary to begin riding the waves. The surfboard may comprise at least one propeller and electromechanical motor, which may provide propulsion for the rider. The surfboard may have an internal power system and supporting circuitry for safe and reliable propulsion. The motorized surfboard may have a low-profile system that is collapsible and allows for the rider to enjoy the surf as if the surfboard were a conventional system. The system may also function to return the rider to the shoreline.

Abstract: This disclosure extends to systems, apparatus, and methods for quick release mast mounting assemblies for board mounted hydrofoil assemblies. In one exemplary system, a quick release mounting assembly may include board mountable base receiver for mounting to a sports board, which defines a longitudinal receiving recess. A resilient locking member is disposed at a front end of the base receiver. A separate mast connection member formed as a body configured for connection to an upper end of a hydrofoil mast, corresponds to the longitudinal receiving recess, and includes a counterpart structure for forming a secure connection with the resilient locking member. The mast connection member may include opposite shoulder or wing members that extend laterally orthogonal to the longitudinal axis thereof and the receiving recess may include counterpart slots for receiving these members. The resilient locking member may include a separate spring assembly or be a unitary member.

Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed of a standup paddle (SUP) board comprising a substantially rectangular shape in outline and having a length dimension that is a whole number multiple of its width dimension. A plurality of link members are disposed at spaced-apart locations along the periphery of the board's deck. Each link member can function, in a first configuration, as a handle for the board; and, in a second configuration, as a linkup for connecting the board in abutting relation to one or more other adjacently located, similarly configured standup paddle boards. With a plurality of such boards connected proximate one another in a desired configuration via such links, an extended upper surface is provided that can serve as a substantially stable platform upon which one or more persons can engage in desired activities.

Abstract: A surfboard including a surfboard body and having an upper surface and a bottom surface, an upwardly open cavity formed in the upper surface, an electric drive for propelling the surfboard, a battery housing having an upper face and being connected with the electric drive for supplying electrical energy, the upper face having a recess extending between opposite side faces of the battery housing, the battery housing being removably received in the cavity. A bracket handle with a central portion and opposite side portions defining arms pivotally mounted to the battery housing to allow turning of the bracket handle between a carrying position for carrying the battery housing when removed from the cavity and a second position wherein the central portion is nested within the recess. The battery housing having a latching portion in releasable engagement with the central portion when nested within the recess.
