Abstract:
A separator bead is disclosed for separating layers of manufactured concrete products, wherein the separator bead is characterized in that: the separator bead is preferably fabricated from a biodegradable bead material; the separator bead is configured with a thickness selected from 2 mm to 5 mm, a width selected from 2 mm to 10 mm, a depth selected from 2 mm to 10 mm, and a thickness-to-width aspect ratio selected from 0.2 to 0.9; the separator bead is preferably configured with one or more nodules, each with a nodule diameter selected from 0.01 mm to 2 mm; and the separator bead is characterized by a thickness compression from 5% to 50%, under a load of 60 lb per bead at a temperature of 120° F. for 5 minutes. The disclosed separator beads overcome known problems in the art of manufactured concrete products. The optimized separator beads prevent surface scratches and defects.
Abstract:
The compression resistant package for wall and ceiling tile includes a first container having a box portion and a cover. An L-shaped corner protection member is provided inside the box portion at each of the tour corners of the box portion. Each of the L-shaped corner protection members have two intersecting legs that respectively extend alongside predetermined portions of the interior wall surfaces of the box portion. The corner protection members have a height that extends upwardly from the floor of the box portion to the height of the walls of the box portion. The corner protection members are formed of a compression resistant material that prevents any overlying containers from imposing pressure on a stack of tiles inside the first container when the stack height of the tiles inside the first container is less than the height of the corner protection members.
Abstract:
A packaging for a window comprising a folded sheet member and at least one fastener or bonder for interconnecting different sections of the sheet member for the formation of a box, where two lid sections are each connected to a side section of the sheet member. The sum of the widths of the lid sections is substantially equal to the width of a receiving section intended for carrying the window and the lid sections have different widths. The width of each lid section corresponds to at least ¼ of the width of the receiving section. Preferably, the packaging comprises an indication that it should be opened at the joint between the two lid sections and one of the lid sections preferably has a standard width regardless of the size of the packaging, preferably approximately 40 cm. A packed window and a method for packing a window is also part of the invention.

Abstract:
A kit containing components which can be assembled into a shutter panel includes a header, a footer, a plurality of brackets, a first stile, a second stile, a plurality of louvers. One embodiment also contains a jig to align the bracket with the header or footer for attachment. Each bracket is sized and configured to be connected to an end of the header or footer. The stiles each have a longitudinal channel which enables the stiles to be fitted over at least one of the brackets. The jig has a mouth sized to receive an end of the footer or header and a cavity adjacent the mouth such that a user of the jig can place one end of a bracket in the cavity and the other end of the header or footer in the mouth. The kit may be packaged in two packs. One pack contains a header, a footer and a plurality of brackets. The second pack contains mounting frame pieces, at least one first stile, at least one second stile, a plurality of louvers, louver strips, a tilt rod, screws and other hardware which can be assembled into a shutter panel having the desired dimensions. The header, footer, stiles and brackets are provided to a retailer in standard sizes. The retailer may then trim these components as required to create a shutter having the desired dimensions.

Medical needle assemblies incorporating a needle cover are provided. According to one aspect, the needle cover is integrally formed from a material that: (1) is sufficiently rigid to prevent bending of an underlying cannula, (2) is suitable for allowing a frangible portion thereof to be broken under pre-selected conditions, and/or (3) has a moisture vapor transmission rate sufficient for steam sterilization of a needle tip enclosed by the needle cover. According to another aspect, at least part of a cap portion and a hub portion of the needle cover are translucent. According to yet another aspect, the needle cover is provided with a wing having an enlarged rib suitable for gripping during separation of a cap portion from the remainder of the needle cover.
