    摘要: A sequencer for assembling into a transferee magazine predetermined numbers of fixtures from a predetermined plurality of transferor magazines, each of which transferor magazines is adapted to hold a plurality of fixtures. Each of the fixtures stacked in a transferor magazine holds an integrated circuit (IC) chip of the same type. The transferor magazines are removably mounted on transferor bases mounted on a support member. Positoning means are also mounted on the support member and a transferee magazine is removably mounted on a transferee base secured to the positioning means. A transfer mechanism is mounted on the positioning means to transfer a fixture from a transferor magazine to the transferee magazine when the transferee magazine is in fixture transfer position with respect to a transferor magazine. Control signals cause the positioning means to position sequentially the transferee base in fixture transfer position with respect to the transferor bases on which are mounted transferor magazines and cause the transfer mechanism to load and stack in the transferee magazine a predetermined number of fixtures from predetermined transferor magazines.

    摘要: A sheet withdrawing mechanism is disclosed for a collator having a plurality of spaced moving shelves or partitions forming pockets. Each partition or pocket receives a pile of sheets and as each pocket passes sheet withdrawing position, rotating spiders, preferably having a plurality of arms, each extend an arm into each pocket in succession, engage the top sheet of the pile and at least partially withdraw the sheet far enough to be reached by adjacent secondary withdrawing mechanism which completes the withdrawal of the sheet from the pocket. Two constructions of spiders are illustrated and described, one having relatively long arms for partition spacing having a relatively large dimension so that the arc of movement of the end of each arm is great enough to withdraw the sheet sufficiently solely by the sweep of the arm. The second spider construction is for partition spacing having a relatively lesser dimension so that a greater number of pockets can be provided in an over-all dimension. This second spider has relatively shorter arms and has a withdrawal roll on the end of each arm which is rotated so that each sheet is partially withdrawn from its pocket by a combination of the sweep of the arm and the rotation of the withdrawal roll. Also included is mechanism to advance the phase of the spider arms with respect to the phase of the pockets as they rotate. Thus, the spider arms are advanced and enter the pockets progressively sooner.

    摘要: A rotary collator is disclosed having a rotary drum with a plurality of radially extending partitions forming radially extending pockets against which partitions the sheets to be collated are held by clamping means. The clamping means for each pocket has operating means which opens or releases the sheet clamp prior to the position of the pocket where a sheet is to be ejected from the pocket. The clamp operating means closes the clamping means after the pocket has passed sheet ejecting position. The operating means uses a toggle structure and a relatively heavy compression spring to hold the sheets in the pile against the partition when in clamping position. This spring is operating mostly under relatively light tension so that its flexing is reduced considerably thereby and the likelihood of breaking is much reduced. Also breaking of a compression spring is much less likely because pressure is applied by flat ends of the spring abutting the parts engaged.
