Abstract: The present invention embraces apparatus for packaging linear material. The invention comprises a driven rotatable collet having a package collection region and a temporary collection region, a linear material engaging member having a recess and a guide surface terminating at one end at the recess; and means for moving the member so that the linear material is moved along the collet between the package collection region and the temporary collection region, the guide surface being disposed to laterally guide the linear material into the recess and gather the linear material into a bundle therein when the member is moved along a path to move the linear material from the package collection region to the temporary collection region, the recess being disposed tending to hold the linear material therein and thus urge movement of the linear material with it when the member is moved back along the path such that the material releases from the recess at its package collection region.

Abstract: A coating film transfer tool in which a rotational torque with the least variability may be generated without being affected by a surface state of a resilient body may include: a paying-out core having a coating film transfer tape wound thereon; and a rewinding core that rewinds the coating film transfer tape after use. The paying-out core and the rewinding core are interlocked via a power transmission mechanism in a case. The transmission mechanism generates a rotational torque by a frictional force on a sliding surface between components, by using a restoring force of a resilient body. The resilient body is configured to rotate integrally with a component A that comes into contact with one end of the resilient body and a component B that comes into contact with the other end.

Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus which employs a mechanical removal system in place of a conventional air jet system, in removing a residual lap on a spool. The residual lap removal apparatus according to the present invention principally comprises a bobbin holder, a rotational brush and a spike roller, wherein the spool on a conveyor is carried to a rotating position of the rotational brush by the bobbin holder, the residual lap on the spool is mechanically removed by the brush, and the lap on the rotational brush is transferred to spike pins on the spike roller whereby the removal processing of the residual lap can be positively carried out.

Abstract: Advancing yarn is directed onto a larger diameter portion of a tapered yarn winding roll having a smaller diameter free end. The yarn is formed into windings that extend about the roll and that are continuously displaced along its length toward and, in most embodiments also from, its free end. The displacement of the yarn windings may be assisted by air currents and/or the force of gravity. The tension of the advancing yarn may be controlled by varying the axial location of its initial engagement with the roll. The apparatus may consist either of a single yarn withdrawal unit or of multiple interconnected units.
