摘要: Vehicle glazing, which once served just to provide for vision and protect from the elements, has been taking on new functions as the complexity and functionality of modern automobiles has evolved. Performance films and interlayers are often used to add to and enhance the functionality of laminates. These functions include solar control, sound dampening, head up display and variable light transmittance. Recent advances have made it possible to produce electronic circuits on thin transparent substrates that are essentially invisible under normal lighting conditions. While these circuits can be inserted into the laminate and successfully laminated, the edges of the circuit insert are prone to objectionable aesthetics due to mismatch between the substrate and the interlayer index of refraction, thickness and color. The present invention compensates the edge of the solid insert by providing a sheet of a compatible compensation material that the substrate of the insert and which extends to at least the black band or the edge of glass of the laminate making the insert edge essentially invisible.

摘要: Methods of bonding together substrates that do not require use of primers, mixing, fixturing, or autoclaving. These methods can include the steps of disposing an adhesive layer on a bonding surface of either substrate, the adhesive layer comprising a curable composition that is dimensionally stable at ambient conditions; either before or after disposing the adhesive layer on the bonding surface, irradiating the adhesive layer with ultraviolet radiation to initiate curing of the curable composition; placing one substrate so as to be bonded to the other substrate by the adhesive layer; and allowing the adhesive layer to cure.

Also provided is a laminated glass which can prevent deterioration of a sealing material. This laminated glass 1 comprises a first glass plate 33A, a first intermediate film 31A, a liquid crystal film 10, a second intermediate film 31B, and a second glass plate, which are layered and disposed in this order, wherein the first glass plate 33A and the second glass plate 33B have a larger outer shape than that of the liquid crystal film 10, and a spacer 32 is provided in at least a portion of a region which is interposed between the first glass plate 33A and the second glass plate 33B and in which the liquid crystal film 10 is not disposed.

摘要: A synthetic quartz glass substrate is machined by bringing a surface of the synthetic quartz glass substrate as the workpiece into contact with and superposing it on a surface of a protective member made of synthetic quartz glass to effect optical contact bonding of the workpiece and the protective member, and passing a cutting tool through the optical contact bonding surfaces. This machining process is able to effectively prevent the generation of microdefects at the cutting tool entry site and extraction site during a cutting operation. Moreover, a fixing agent is not used to join the workpiece and the protective member, and so productivity is high because there is no need for the application and later removal of a fixing agent.

The foldable housing may provide a front surface of the electronic device and a rear surface of the electronic device. The flexible display may be located in an inner space of the foldable housing. The front cover may include a pattern in which a plurality of openings corresponding to a folding portion of the foldable housing or a plurality of recesses provided in a surface facing the flexible display are periodically provided. A plurality of sub-pixels emitting light of a same wavelength in the flexible display may be arranged in a same direction as a direction in which the plurality of openings or the plurality of recesses are periodically arranged.

摘要: A glass substrate comprises: a first position, wherein a tensile stress of the glass substrate is insufficient to cause fragmentation of the glass substrate into small pieces upon fracture of the glass substrate; and a second position, wherein the glass substrate is bent relative to the first position, and wherein the tensile stress of the glass substrate is sufficient to cause fragmentation of the glass substrate into small pieces upon fracture of the glass substrate. The glass substrate can include a first surface and a second surface. In the first position, the first surface and the second surface of the glass substrate can be planar. In the second position, the first surface and the second surface of the glass substrate can be planar. The small pieces can be generally cubic. In the second position, the glass substrate can be bent uniaxially along a bend axis of the glass substrate.
