    摘要: This invention concerns a process and an apparatus for producing ether and the use of a dimerised reaction product as the olefinic feedstock in etherification. According to the present process alcohol and C8-C12 olefin(s) are fed to a first reaction zone (21-25) comprising at least one reactor, the olefin(s) and alcohol are subjected to an etherification reaction in the presence of an acidic catalyst. The effluent from the first reaction zone (21-25) is fed to a fractionation zone (26). From the fractionation zone (26) is withdrawn a side-flow which is conducted either back to the first reaction zone (21-25) or to a second reaction zone. The effluent of the first reaction zone (21-25) or the second reaction zone is circulated back to the fractionation zone (26), and the ether is recovered from the fractionation zone (26).

    摘要: A process for reacting a first component with itself or a second component to produce a third component in which a first material comprising a first component or said first component and a second component is fed to divided wall column having a catalytic distillation structure in at least one of the separate vertical sections of the divided wall column where concurrently: (1) a first component alone or with a second component is contacted with a catalytic distillation structure in a distillation reaction zone thereby catalytically reacting at least a portion of the first component with itself or with the second component to form a product and (2) a first mixture comprising the first component and the product or the first component, the second component and the product; and withdrawing the product from the distillation column reactor; while within the column concurrently with the catalytic reaction and fractionation a second mixture is fractionated, which contains the first component and the product or first and second components (if a second component is present) and the product in a parallel and separate distillation non reaction zone to fractionate the product and withdrawing the product from said distillation non reaction zone. For example, tertiary amyl methyl ether may be prepared by reacting methanol with isoamylene in a C5 stream utilizing a distillation column reactor wherein the distillation column reactor comprises one side of a divided wall column. On one side the product, tertiary amyl methyl ether, is separated from the unreacted methanol and C5's and on the other side the remaining isoamylenes are reacted with methanol and a separation of the tertiary amyl methyl ether and C5's from the methanol/C5 azeotrope is effected.

    摘要: A process for producing a monoalkyl ether which comprises a first step of contacting the following components (A) and (B):(A): an aqueous liquid phase containing: (a1) a C3-6 polyol having 3 or 4 hydroxyl groups, a palladium compound, a water-soluble tertiary phosphine or phosphite, and water; or (a2) a C3-6 polyol having 3 to 4 hydroxyl groups, a complex of palladium and a water-soluble tertiary phosphine or phosphite, and water, and (B): an oily liquid phase containing a conjugated diene, to give an alkadienyl ether containing an alkadienyl group resulting from dimerization of conjugated dienes; and a second step of hydrogenating the alkadienyl group in the alkadienyl ether in a hydrogen atmosphere in the presence of a catalyst containing an element selected from the Groups 8 to 10 elements of the periodic table. According to the process of the invention, monoalkyl ethers of polyols are produced selectively in a simple manner and advantageously from the economical viewpoint. The present process enables recovery and recycling of the catalyst.
