The water and oil repellent composition which has as an essential component a copolymer consisting essentially of polymerized units of the following monomer (a) and polymerized units of the following monomer (b). monomer (a): an Rf monomer wherein the melting point of fine crystals derived from the Rf groups of the homopolymer does not exist or is at most 50° C. monomer (b): a monomer having no Rf group, wherein the melting point of fine crystals derived from the side chains of the homopolymer is at least 30° C.

    摘要: A heat resistant resin is formed by heating an acrylic monomer composition prepared by copolymerising an acrylic monomer represented by general formula (1) with another monomer that is copolymerisable with the acrylic monomer, the acrylic monomer composition having an acid value of 5 mgKOH/g or less, where each of R1 and R2 is either a hydrogen atom or an organic residue. A 1% tetrahydrofuran solution formed by subjecting the acrylic copolymer to a heat treatment at a temperature of 250° C. for 30 minutes and thereafter dissolving the acrylic copolymer in tetrahydrofuran has a viscosity ranging from 10 cps to 10,000 cps at 25° C. The acrylic polymer does not gel in the manufacture of a heat resistant resin, and by using the acrylic polymer as a material for a heat resistant resin, the resultant heat resistant resin obtained boasts excellent transparency and mouldability, and can be moulded by melting.

    摘要: High molecular weight linear poly(propylene fumarate) having a relatively low polydispersity index by utilizing a relatively pure intermediate and a method for making same. Fumaryl chloride and propylene glycol are reacted in the presence of potassium carbonate. The potassium carbonate present in the reaction solution prevents the acid by-product from catalyzing reactions at the fumarate double bond. The bis(propyl fumarate) produced according to this technique can be transesterified using conventional processing steps to yield P(PF). The P(PF) produced from bis(propyl fumarate) produced according to the present method has a higher molecular weight and is purer than P(PF) produced using previously known techniques.
