    摘要: A process for producing a graft co- or terpolymeric thermoplastic resin consisting of an ethylene-propylene rubber and an aromatic vinyl compound or of an ethylene-propylene rubber, an aromatic vinyl compound and a vinyl cyanide compound, characterized by subjecting these materials to solution polymerization in a mixed solvent comprising an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent capable of dissolving the ethylene-propylene rubber and a polar solvent capable of dissolving poly-(aromatic vinyl compound) in the case of the graft-copolymer or aromatic vinyl compound-vinyl cyanide compound copolymer in the case of the graft-terpolymer. The graft-copolymer or graft-terpolymer obtained by the present process is excellent in weather resistance and impact resistance. The impact resistance of the present graft co- or ter-polymer is not affected by processing conditions.

    摘要: Impact-resistant graft copolymers prepared by grafting a styrene, acryl or mixture of styrene-type and acryl polymers or copolymers onto a multiply unsaturated polymer based on ethylene, as a terpolymer of ethylene, propylene and other multiply unsaturated monomers (EPDM-rubbers) in the presence of a radicalforming peroxydi-carbonate initiator is disclosed. Graft copolymers so produced are impact-resistant, resist aging and are useful in forming tubes, films and bottles.

    摘要: A novel, impact-resistant, rubber-modified plastic material having good aging resistance can be produced by polymerizing 40 to 99 parts by weight of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer capable of forming a plastic material having a glass transition temperature of 10*C or higher, in the presence of 1 to 60 parts by weight of an olefin-acrylate copolymer comprising as the essential components an olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms and an acrylate in which the alcohol moiety has 1 to 20 carbon atoms, particularly an alternating copolymer of the olefin and the acrylate, or an alternating interpolymer of the olefin, the acrylate in which the alcohol moiety has no ethylenic unsaturation, and 0.1 to 30 mole percent of the acrylate in which the alcohol moiety has ethylenic unsaturation.

    摘要: A polymer composition, e.g. a high-impact polystyrene, having novel morphological structure comprises a polymeric matrix, e.g. polystyrene, in which there are dispersed particles of a second polymer, e.g. an ethylene-propylene terpolymer. The particles of second polymer contain occlusions of matrix polymer and the occlusions also contain sub-occlusions of a third polymeric species, e.g. polybutadiene, which is more specific to grafting with the monomeric constituents of the matrix polymer than is the second polymer species. The compositions are tough and have good oxidation resistance.

    摘要: The present invention relates to chemically joined, phase separated graft copolymers comprised of copolymeric backbones containing a plurality of uninterrupted repeating units of a backbone polymer and at least one integrally copolymerized moiety per backbone polymer chain having chemically bonded thereto a substantially linear polymer which forms a copolymerized sidechain to the backbone, wherein each of the polymeric sidechains has substantially the same molecular weight and each polymeric sidechain is chemically bonded to only one backbone polymer, and said polymeric sidechains are further characterized as having at least two polymeric segments in the form of a diblock or triblock polymer.
