An adhesive composition, which exhibits excellent adhesion to base films made from polyimide resins and the like or copper foils, as well as superior electrical properties, and a laminate having an adhesive layer, which is low in warpage when the adhesive layer is in the B stage, and which is excellent in storage stability of the laminate, are provided. The adhesive composition includes a modified polyolefin-based resin and an epoxy resin, in which the modified polyolefin-based resin is a resin resulting from graft-modification of an unmodified olefin resin with a modifying agent containing an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid or derivative thereof, wherein the content of the modified polyolefin-based resin is 50 parts by mass or more relative to 100 parts by mass of the solid content of the adhesive composition; the content of the epoxy resin is from 1 to 20 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the modified polyolefin-based resin; and the dielectric constant of a cured body of the adhesive is less than 2.5 as measured at a frequency of 1 GHz.

A grafted polymer, either polyolefin or polyester, containing monomers associated with sludge and varnish control as well as monomers associated with soot handling to provide a graft polymer exhibiting multiple performance attributes. Also described are methods for manufacturing these novel multiple-function graft polymers via solution and melt processes. Lubricating oil compositions containing these novel multiple-function polymers as an additive that display performance characteristics directed to good soot handling and sludge and varnish control as well as control of viscosity increase are described.

This invention relates to a novel one-pot process for polyolefin modification to form long-chain branched polymers containing polar functional groups, and the long-chain branched polymer resulting from the process. The process comprises reacting the following components (a) through (d) in a one pot process to form a long-chain branched polyolefin. Component (a) is a polyolefin; component (b) includes one or more silane compounds having the formula R″SiRnR′(3-n), component (c) is an ethylenically unsaturated polycarboxylic acid; and component (d) is a free radical initiator. In the formula R″SiRnR′(3-n) for component (b), R″ is an ethylenically or acetylenically unsaturated radical; R is a hydrolyzable group selected from the group consisting of an alkoxy, acyloxy, alkylamino, and arylamino; R′ is a hydrocarbyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; and n is 1, 2, or 3.

An object of the present invention is to provide a dispersant for a resin current collector which can uniformly disperse a conductive filler to attain sufficient charge and discharge characteristics without impairing the output power per unit weight of a battery. The present invention provides a dispersant for a resin current collector comprising a polymer having a resin-philic block (A1) and a conductive filler-philic block (A2).

An object of the invention is to provide modified polyolefin particles which have a satisfactory amount of grafting and a sufficient molecular weight, are substantially free from gels, and exhibit excellent handleability and workability when shaped or mixed with various resins. The particles include a modified polyolefin obtained by grafting a monomer having an ethylenically unsaturated group and a polar functional group in the same molecule to a polymer including one, or two or more α-olefins selected from C2-18 α-olefins and having a melting point of not less than 50° C. and less than 250° C., the modified polyolefin particles satisfying the following requirements (1) to (3): (1) the amount of grafting x by the monomer having an ethylenically unsaturated group and a polar functional group in the same molecule is not less than 0.5 wt % and not more than 20 wt %; (2) the amount of grafting x (wt %) and the intrinsic viscosity [i](dl/g) measured in decalin at 135° C. satisfy the relation: log10[η]≧0.1−0.15x; and (3) the particles have a gel content of less than 1 wt %.

Provided is an anticorrosive polyamide resin composition having excellent anticorrosive capability by possessing excellent adhesive strength to a polyolefin resin and a metal and excellent elongation. The anticorrosive polyamide resin composition contains a resin component that contains 70 to 90 mass % of a polyamide resin, and 30 to 10 mass % of an acid-modified polyolefin resin. A maleic acid anhydride-modified polyolefin resin is preferably used as the acid-modified polyolefin resin. Polypropylene is preferably used as the polyolefin resin.

The composition and preparation of multifunctional graft polymers useful as dispersants are described. The dispersants described are suitable for controlling sludge and varnish as well as soot, friction and wear. The product is useful as a lubricant additive.

A graft copolymer having a structure in which a vinyl copolymer segment formed from a vinyl monomer having an acid is suspended in a molecular chain of a polyolefin resin segment via a β-substituted propylene group is obtained, by reaction of polyolefin resin having β-substituted propenyl group as a pendant and a vinyl monomer having an acid, and further a graft copolymer composition containing the same and a molded product thereof are obtained.The obtained graft copolymer, the composition containing the same and the molded product thereof are excellent in adhesive property to a polar material and scratch resistance.
