Abstract:
The present invention provides an azo pigment comprising a group represented by the general formula (1) below, an electrophotographic photosensitive member comprising an intermediate layer comprising the azo pigment, and a process cartridge and an electrophotographic apparatus that comprise the electrophotographic photosensitive member.
Abstract:
Disazo dyes are disclosed which are particularly suitable for dyeing paper.Paper is dyed with these dyes in greenish-yellow or yellow to red shades of good fastness properties.
Abstract:
Novel azo compounds having the specific structural formula (1) or (3) set out below, water-soluble dyes containing the compounds, and polarizing films containing the water-soluble dyes: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom or a hydroxyl, C.sub.1-2 alkyl, C.sub.1-2 alkoxy, C.sub.1-2 acylamino, cyano, carboxyl or sulfonic acid group; R.sub.3 and R.sub.8 individually represent a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl, C.sub.1-2 alkyl or C.sub.1-2 alkoxy group; R.sub.2 and R.sub.4 individually represent a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl, C.sub.1-2 alkyl, C.sub.1-2 alkoxy or C.sub.1-2 acylamino group; R.sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom or a carboxyl or C.sub.1-2 alkoxy group; R.sub.6 represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl, amino, methylamino, .beta.-hydroxyethylamino or C.sub.1-2 acylamino group, or a phenylamino or benzoylamino group which the phenyl nucleus may be substituted by one or more nitro, amino, hydroxyl, C.sub.1-2 alkyl, carboxyl and/or sulfonic acid groups and/or chlorine atoms; R.sub.7 represents a hydroxyl or amino group and substitutes at o- or p-position relative to the azo group; m stands for 0 or 1; p stands for 0 or 1; q stands for 0, 1 or 2; and M represents a copper, nickel, zinc or iron atom.
Abstract:
A process for controlling and optimizing chemical industrial processes for the preparation of dyes, fluorescent whitening agents and their intermediates, which process comprises controlling and optimizing those processes by differential analysis of the UV/VIS absorption spectra of at least one starting compound and of at least one reaction product. The advantage of this process is that the actual state of a process can be constantly measured, assessed, and used for feed-back and feed-forward control.
Abstract:
Disazo dyes which are suitable for dyeing and printing, especially of paper of all kinds. The dyes correspond to the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each an alkyl radical,A is an alkylene radical,X and Y are nonionic substituents customarily in azo dyes andAn.sup..crclbar. is an anion.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of the dyestuff Direct Yellow 11 directly in the form of stable concentrated solutions, in which caustic soda in aqueous solution is reacted, at a temperature from 40.degree. to 90.degree. C., with a solution containing 4-nitro-toluene-2-sulfonic acid, one or more alkanolamines, one or more alcohols containing an etheroxide function or a second alcohol function, then the caustic soda is neutralized by addition of sulfuric acid and the sodium sulfate thus formed is separated by filtration. The solutions obtained by the process according to the invention are particularly suitable for dyeing cellulosic materials and leather.
Abstract:
A dyestuff of the formula: ##STR1## wherein D is the residue of a colored compound of the 6,13-dichlorotriphendioxazine series, the triazine group being attached to a nitrogen atom in D, and wherein:Y is 1 or 2,R.sub.2 is Cl, Br, OH, lower alkoxy, NH.sub.2, a quaternary ammonium group or the residue of a primary or secondary amine,R.sub.1 is H or an alkyl or substituted alkyl group of up to 4 carbon atoms, andR is a hydrocarbon or substituted hydrocarbon radical. The invention provides a range of blue dyestuffs especially useful for reactively dyeing cellulose by heating in the presence of a carbodiimide.
