摘要： A slag transport and dumping apparatus, for use with slag, includes a vehicle, a pallet, and a lifting mechanism. The vehicle includes a bed having a pallet interface. The pallet includes a support frame having ground support members, and a transporter interface selectively engaging the pallet interface. A dump container has a slag reservoir. Rear pivots on the container and pallet, together with the lifting mechanism, which is securely mounted to the bed of the vehicle and selectively engages the container, enable secure selective pivoting of the container between slag retaining and pouring configurations. In a loading configuration, the reservoir receives the slag, the container is in the retaining configuration, and the vehicle is removed from the pallet. In a transporting configuration, the container is in the retaining configuration, and the vehicle securely engages the pallet, in carrying relation, thus enabling transport of the pallet.

摘要： A vehicular body for hauling materials, comprising an external skeletal frame of metal members forming the primary load-bearing structure of the body; a metal lining supported by the skeletal frame and forming the interior surfaces of the body for containing loads of material, the exterior surface of the lining being exposed to the ambient atmosphere through the openings in the skeletal frame; and coupling means securing the lining to the skeletal frame while permitting relative movement between the lining and the frame so that the lining and the frame can expand and contract differentially without stressing each other. The lining of the vehicular body is preferably detachably coupled to the skeletal frame to facilitate removal of the lining for maintenance of replacement purposes.

摘要： A tundish cover for use with a treating ladle in the production of ductile iron is disclosed wherein the tundish cover is provided with a pouring spout, a pressure exhaust port, a treatment alloy charging tube, a slag removal port and mounting tabs to detachably connect the tundish cover to the treating ladle. The pressure exhaust port includes a floating cover to provide a host for oxide condensation during the treatment process. Removable covers on the charging tube and the slag removal port permit selective access to the interior of the treating ladle without requiring disassembly of the tundish cover from the treating vessel.

摘要： A runner extending from a blast furnace to a slag pit, water spray unit for manufacturing granulated slag or slag ladle is partly or wholly composed of a plurality of trough elements each made from copper or copper alloy. Each trough element comprises a hollow body having an inner space which is divided into sections by a plurality of partitions to define throughout the inner space of the body a series of passages in which a cooling medium is allowed to flow without stagnation. The cooling medium within the hollow body of the trough element is introduced under a predetermined pressure from a pipe line for supplying cooling medium into the body, whereby the cooling medium freely flows at a relatively high velocity in the passages defined by the partitions and molten slag glowing in contact with the surface of the trough element is cooled to a desired temperature which prevents wear and loss of the element and makes it possible to produce hard granulated slag from the molten slag.

摘要： An apparatus for holding and transporting a hot metal mixer tank in a metallurgical plant includes a platform car having wheels for running over a trackway and a support at each end for removably engaging a large hot metal mixer. The hot metal mixer tank is supported on axle or tilt axle mounted at each end of the carriage. Each pivot axle includes at least two arms which carry bearing shells on each side of the associated end of the mixing tank. The mixing tank carries transversely extending horizontal position pins which extend outwardly from each side and rest in the open top bearing shells. The tops of the shells may be closed by pivotal cover plates which are bolted in position when closed. The supporting pivot axles on the track car also carry upper and lower rigid extensions having adjustable back pressure bolt members which may be threaded inwardly or outwardly in order to provide a longitudinal bearing pressure against the end surface of the mixing tank when the latter is oriented in position on the bearing journals and the side bearing pins are locked in the open shell supports.
