    摘要: A spinning unit and method for detecting changes of position of a shaftless spinning rotor (1) of an open-end spinning machine in a cavity of an active magnetic bearing, in which the position of the spinning rotor (1) is detected by a system of sensors (A, B) and on basis of the detected changes in the position of the spinning rotor (1) is adjusted controlling of the active magnetic bearing in order to eliminate undesirable changes in the position of the spinning rotor (1) in the cavity of the active magnetic bearing. Continuously is detected radial shifting of the spinning rotor (1) and simultaneously is continuously detected inclination of the spinning rotor (1), whereupon according to the detected changes in the position of the spinning rotor (1) is determined shifting and/or inclination of the spinning rotor (1) which is used for subsequent adjustment of the controlling of position of the spinning rotor (1) in the active magnetic bearing, wherein both radial shifting and inclination of the spinning rotor are each detected by at least two pairs of sensors of the distance of monitored surface of the spinning rotor, the pairs of sensors for detecting radial shifting of the spinning rotor detect changes of distances of the cylindrical wall of the spinning rotor from the sensors. The sensors (A, B) of the position of the spinning rotor (1) are grouped into pairs, whereby two pairs of sensors (A1, A2) for detecting of radial shifting of the spinning rotor (1) are arranged on the opposite sides of the spinning rotor (1) against the cylindrical wall (10) of the spinning rotor (1) and at the same time another two pairs of sensors (B1, B2) for detecting of inclination of the spinning rotor (1) are arranged on the opposite sides of the spinning rotor (1) against the wall (11) of the spinning rotor (1), which is perpendicular to the rotation axis (OA) of the spinning rotor (1).

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for operating an open-end spinning unit, which comprises a spinning rotor 1 that rotates during the spinning operation at a high rotational speed in a closed rotor housing 2. The spinning rotor is rotated by an individual electric motor drive 18 and supported in a smoothly running bearing assembly. When the drive is disconnected and the rotor housing is properly closed by a cover element 8, the spinning rotor is biased and rotated by an airflow resulting from a vacuum prevailing in the rotor housing and the motor drive operates as a generator. At least one of the electric quantities Pv, Gv which develop during the generator operation of the drive 18 is monitored, and upon exceeding a threshold value which can only be attained when the cover element is properly closed, a signal S is generated and processed in a control unit 30 to cause the cover element 8 on the rotor housing 2 to be locked, and thereafter the drive 18 of the spinning rotor 3 is released for a restart.

Spinning apparatus 1 thereby has a high natural frequency, which makes possible very high rotor speeds.

In this fashion the disadvantages of conventional supporting rings having reflectors can be avoided and optimal reflection can easily be restored at any time after wear of individual reflectors.

The disk pairs are arranged to form a wedge shaped gap supporting the shaft of a spinning rotor for rotation. Each disk comprises a metallic hub which mounts a synthetic ring. The synthetic ring has a spinning rotor contact surface comprising a shoulder arranged atop a helically disposed rib which extends around and across the contact surface. The shoulder imparts an axial thrust against the spinning rotor during operation of the spinning machine.

The shaft of the spinning rotor is held in the nips of pairs of rearward and forward supporting disks. The open-end spinning device further comprises a radial support surrounding at least a portion of the circumference of the rotor shaft and disposed at least in part in the area between the free end of the shaft and the area of the shaft acted upon by the rearward pair of disks.
