    摘要： A knitting machine and a method to be accomplished on said machine are described, which are suitable for the production of knitwear from hard, inelastic thread material, e.g. from metal threads. According to the invention, at knitting systems (8a, 8b) provided for this purpose, knitting needles (2) are raised to pick up threads, which are then preformed over the upper edges of knocking-over/holding-down sinkers (3) to form loops. Thereafter the stitch formation takes place by needle and sinker movements directed in opposite directions in the manner of the relative technique.
