摘要: The present technology is directed to fluff pulps with improved odor control as well as methods of making such fluff pulps. A fluff pulp is provided that includes a bleached kraft fiber and a copper ion content from about 0.2 ppm to about 50 ppm by weight of the bleached kraft fiber. The bleached kraft fiber includes a length-weighted average fiber length of at least about 2 mm, a copper number of less than about 7, a carboxyl content of more than about 3.5 meq/100 grams; an ISO brightness of at least 80; and a viscosity from about 2 cps to about 9 cps.

摘要: The present invention relates to a lignin-containing cellulose nanofiber characterized in that (a) the said lignin-containing cellulose nanofiber has a content of carboxyl group in a range of 0.2-1.5 mmol/g, (b) the said lignin-containing cellulose nanofiber has Zeta potential in a range of −100 to −35 mV, and (c) the said lignin-containing cellulose nanofiber has an average diameter in a range of 3-30 nm. In addition, the present invention further relates to a paper and a film comprising the said lignin-containing cellulose nanofiber. The present invention also relates to a process for preparing a lignin-containing cellulose nanofiber comprising steps of (i) treating a lignin-containing cellulosic material with an organic solvent, (ii) treating the cellulosic material treated from the step (i) with derivative of N-oxy radical compound and hypochlorite compound, and (iii) mechanical treating the cellulosic material treated from the step (ii).

摘要: A bleaching apparatus comprises a measurement chamber has a first substance, the amount of the first substance in the measurement chamber being known. A dosing unit inputs a second substance to the measurement chamber for causing a chemical reaction between the first substance and the second substance, one of the first substance and the second substance being chlorine dioxide and another of the first substance and the second substance being filtered sample from pulp slurry of a pulp process. At least one sensor performs detection of a property known to depend on the chemical reaction between the first substance and the second substance as a function of time. A data processing unit determines chemical demand of chlorine dioxide for washing loss in a bleaching sub-process on the basis of at least one value in the detected property within a known period of time after the input of the second substance.

摘要: A modified kraft pulp fiber with unique properties is provided. The modified fiber can be a modified bleached kraft fiber that is almost indistinguishable from its conventional counterpart, except that it has a low degree of polymerization (DP). Methods for making the modified fiber and products made from it are also provided. The method can be a one step acidic, iron catalyzed peroxide treatment process that can be incorporated into a single stage of a multi-stage bleaching process. The products can be chemical cellulose feedstocks, microcrystalline cellulose feedstocks, fluff pulps and products made from them.
