Abstract:
A sealing strip for sealing a suction zone of a suctioned roll of a machine for producing and/or processing a fibrous web has wear volume, which is gradually worn away by tribological contact with the roll. The sealing strip system further includes a sensor system for detecting the state of wear of the sealing strip, and an evaluation unit. The sensor system is embedded in a sensor channel extending within the sealing strip in the longitudinal direction at the wear volume across substantially the entire length of a sealing surface of strip, and is connectable to the evaluation unit and/or to a unit for supplying the sensor system with a medium for generating information via a connection provided on the lower side of the sealing strip, and leading out of the strip on the side of the wear volume facing away from the sealing surface.
Abstract:
A suction or blow thermal roller includes: a cylindrical body extending along a longitudinal direction; the cylindrical body including at least one inner tubular element and at least one outer tubular element that is concentrically arranged around the inner tubular element; the inner tubular element includes an outer diameter d and the outer tubular element includes an inner diameter D, being D>d; two hubs, each arranged at one end of the cylindrical body; at least one heat-exchange chamber realized between the inner tubular element and the outer tubular element. The roller includes a coating layer for the inner tubular element. The coating layer includes at least one rib arranged along a helical path around the longitudinal direction. The at least one rib is made in one piece in the coating layer, realizing at least one helical channel between the coating layer and the outer tubular element.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a roll for use in a manufacture of a fibrous web comprising cellulosic fibers. The roll comprises a roll body with a cylindrical surface, and a roll cover, which is arranged to cover the cylindrical surface of the roll body. The cover comprises a functional layer, which comprises a polymer matrix and filler particles embedded in the polymer matrix. The filler particles comprise hollow spherical particles of aluminium oxide, titanium oxide, zirconium oxide and/or silicon carbide, which hollow particles have a particle size of ≥200 μm.
Abstract:
A suction roll assembly for sealing at least one negative or positive pressure zone which adjoins a surface of the roll which is perforated and moves in a movement direction in a machine for making paper, tissue or cardboard, has at least one sealing element which lies opposite the moving surface and is arranged in a receptacle which can be moved to change the format of the negative or positive pressure zone. In order to simplify the adjustability of the receptacle in order to position the sealing element, there is a signal transmitter which is connected directly or indirectly to the sealing element and the signal of which can be received on that side of the moving surface which faces away from the sealing element.
Abstract:
A roller has a movable roller sleeve and a positive-pressure or negative-pressure zone inside the roller sleeve. The zone is sealed outwardly by a sealing installation with at least one sealing strip. The sealing strip in the radial direction of the roller is movable from the roller toward the inner side and away therefrom and the sealing strip has a lubricant outlet opening connected to a supply line for delivering lubricant to between the inner side of the roller sleeve and the sealing face. The supply line includes one part running within the sealing strip and one part running outside the sealing strip but within the roller. The part of the supply line within the roller, on its length which is routed outside the sealing strip, includes a first portion that is longer than a second line portion. The second line portion is more flexural than the first line portion.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a fibrous web formation device comprising an inclined wire former, an inclined wire headbox and a drainage device. The inclined wire headbox has at least one conveyor wire which transports the fibrous web in the direction of travel thereof and which has a portion that runs at an angle from the horizontal, in which portion the inclined wire headbox is arranged. The inclined wire headbox allows a fibrous suspension to be applied to the conveyor wire. In a drainage device that has a roll, a drainage wire lying against said roll, and a pressing wire pressing against said roll, the fibrous web being arranged between the drainage wire and the pressing wire in the region of the drainage device, drainage can be performed gently so that the fibrous web at least partially maintains voluminous structures.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the application of atomized fluid to a permeable web material is disclosed. The apparatus has a fluid source and a receipt plenum. The fluid source is disposed in proximate fluid contact with the first surface of the web material. The fluid source has a positively pressured permeable roll having atomized fluid and at least one aperture disposed therein. The apertures provide fluid communication between an inner portion of the roll and a surface thereof. The fluid is disposable from the inner portion to the surface through the apertures into contacting engagement with the permeable web material. The receipt plenum has an opening disposed adjacent to the second surface of the web material that provides a source of negative pressure to the second surface of the web material that causes the fluid to traverse through the web.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of producing a structured fibrous web of paper. The method comprises forming a fibrous web and conveying the formed fibrous web on a water receiving felt (5) to a dewatering nip. An endless belt (11) with a polyurethane surface is passed through the nip together with the fibrous web and the water receiving felt (5). After the dewatering nip, the fibrous web is conveyed by the endless belt (11) to an endless textured fabric (12) which is permeable to air and to which the web is transferred from the endless belt (11) in a transfer nip. The textured fabric (12) rans at a lower speed than the endless belt (11). After the transfer to the textured fabric (12), the fibrous web is carried by the textured fabric (12) to a drying cylinder (17). The transfer nip is formed by two rolls of which one is a suction roll within the loop of the textured fabric. The transfer nip has a length which is 5 mm-40 mm. The endless polyurethane belt (11) has a width that exceeds the width of the textured fabric (12). The invention also relates to a corresponding machine.
Abstract:
A fabric for a papermaking machine that includes a machine facing side and a web facing side including pockets formed by warp and weft yarns is provided. Each pocket is defined by four sides on the web facing side, each of the four sides is formed by a knuckle of a single yarn that passes over only two consecutive yarns to define the knuckle.
Abstract:
A dewatering arrangement in the press section of a web-forming machine having a press suction roll (10) and a press fabric (13) arranged to run via the press suction roll (10). The dewatering arrangement has a saveall (15), which is installed in conjunction with the press suction roll (10), and drainage facilities (18) for removing the collected water from the saveall (15). The saveall (15) has a concave guide surface (19) which in the cross direction is located on a partial distance of the circumference of the press suction roll (10) and at a distance from the surface of the press suction roll (10) in order to accomplish a vacuum effect and to hence remove water from the press suction roll (10).
