Abstract:
A method includes receiving first information indicative of a first selection of a machine disposed at a worksite, wherein the first information is received from an electronic device disposed remote from the worksite. The method also includes receiving second information from the electronic device, wherein the second information is indicative of a second selection of a component of the machine. The method further includes determining, using at least one sensor, that an area surrounding the machine is free from unknown objects, and receiving third information indicative of a request to activate the component. The method also includes causing activation of the component based at least in part on the third information.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a road paver, particularly a small road paver, for paving a subbase layer in a working direction (a), with a machine frame, a traveling mechanism, a material hopper for receiving paving material, a paving screed for smoothing and compacting the paving material, a transverse distribution device for distributing paving material in the working direction (a) in front of the paving screed and transversely to the working direction (a), the transverse distribution device being supported at the machine frame via a support housing, and a height adjustment device for vertical adjustment of the transverse distribution device relative to the machine frame, wherein the support housing is supported at the machine frame such that it is height-adjustable via a quick coupling apparatus, wherein the quick coupling apparatus comprises at least one oblong hole with an expanded insertion portion and a sliding device, wherein the sliding device can be inserted into the oblong hole through the expanded insertion portion, and wherein the sliding device in the inserted state slides in the region of the oblong hole outside the expanded insertion portion during vertical adjustment of the transverse distribution device through the height adjustment device, and wherein the sliding device is supported in a form-closed manner in a direction perpendicular to the height adjustment in this region. Moreover, the invention relates to a method for mounting a transverse distribution device on a road paver.
Abstract:
A paving machine for spreading, leveling and finishing concrete having a main frame, center module, bolsters laterally movably, and a crawler track associated with respective aft and forward ends of the bolsters. A bolster swing leg for each crawler track supports an upright jacking column. A worm gear drive permits rotational movements of the crawler track and the jacking column. A hinge bracket is interposed between each swing leg and a surface of the bolsters to enable pivotal movements of the swing leg. A length-adjustable holder engages the pivot pin on the hinge bracket and pivotally engages the swing leg. The holder permits pivotal motions of the swing leg in its length-adjustable configuration and prevents substantially any motion of the swing leg in its fixed-length configuration. A feedback loop cooperates with transducers keeping the crawler tracks position. The paving machine can be reconfigured into a narrowed transport configuration.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a road paver with a drive, a bunker, a material conveying device, a screed comprising a tamping device and an electric heating device on the screed and/or on the tamping device, wherein a control unit is provided, which is configured in such a manner that it determines, by means of a measurable electrical operating parameter of the electrical heating device on the screed and/or on the tamping device, the weight and/or the center of gravity and/or the width of the screed transversely to the working direction of the screed. The present invention further relates to a method for determining a width and/or a weight and/or a center of gravity of a screed of a road paver, comprising the steps: measuring an electrical variable of a heating device, in particular a heating power, a heating resistance or a power consumption of the heating device; calculating the weight and/or the center of gravity and/or the width of the screed transversely to the working direction of the screed by means of the electrical operating variable.

Abstract:
A pavement repair system is provided utilizing solid phase auto regenerative cohesion and homogenization by liquid asphalt oligopolymerization technologies. The system is suitable for use in repairing asphalt pavement, including pavement exhibiting a high degree of deterioration (as manifested in the presence of potholes, cracks, ruts, or the like) as well as pavement that has been subject to previous repair and may comprise a substantial amount of dirt and other debris (e.g., chipped road paint or other damaged or disturbed surfacing materials). A system utilizing homogenization by liquid asphalt oligopolymerization is suitable for rejuvenating or repairing aged asphalt, thereby improving properties of the paving material.

Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a road paver with at least one operating module to enter operating commands. The operating module comprises a plurality of buttons that can each be pressed in a contact-based way to enter the respective operating commands in order to activate relevant operating functions of the road paver. According to the disclosure, the road paver further comprises a sensor unit that is designed to detect a distance of an operator to the operating module, whereby this distance determines a space from the operating module to any body part of the operator. The sensor unit is connected to a control unit of the road paver that is configured to already activate at least one of the operating functions of the road paver by means of the output signal as soon as the operator undercuts a predetermined threshold distance in relation to the operating module.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an asphalt pavement constructing machine and a method for operating an asphalt pavement constructing machine provided with an asphalt compacting surface for compacting asphalt mix on a paving surface during an asphalt pavement formation operation. At least one exciter is provided that vibrates the compacting surface at one or more frequencies selected to prevent the asphalt mix from adhering to the compacting surface.
Abstract:
A paving machine that moves in a travel direction and spreads, levels and finishes concrete into a form having a generally upwardly exposed, finished concrete surface that terminates in lateral sides. The paving machine has a main frame with first and second bolsters arranged at opposite ends of the main frame. Each set of bolsters has two hydraulic jacking columns used to raise and lower the machine frame. Crawlers attached to the bottom of the jacking columns engage the ground and move the paving machine in the travel direction. A pair of support beams is attached to the inner surface of each bolster and supported in passageways of a center module of the tractor frame. To extend the maximum width of the paving machine without having to extensively disassemble it, the free ends of the support beams extend beyond outer sides of the bolsters when the distance between the inner sides of the bolsters is at its minimum. This paving machine width adjustment can be performed in the field by moving the bolsters and the support beams attached to them inwardly or outwardly with the crawlers of the paving machine. Also provided is a laterally extendable/retractable cross beam for movably supporting a dowel bar inserter kit on the paving machine.
