Abstract:
A paving machine includes a tractor portion, a screed assembly, a lifting assembly configured to move the screed assembly from a raised position to a lowered position, an operator interface configured to receive input from an operator, and a control module. The tractor portion includes a plurality of tractor sensors configured to detect the presence of an object in a detection zone. The screed assembly is configured to be towed behind the tractor portion, and includes a plurality of screed sensors configured to detect the presence of an object in a detection zone. The control module is configured to receive a ‘lower screed’ input from the operator interface, receive a plurality of signals from the plurality of tractor sensors and the plurality of screed sensors, determine if an object is present in the detection zone based on the plurality of signals, automatically prevent or halt lowering of the screed assembly and direct the operator interface to display a warning if an object is detected, and direct the lift assembly to lower the screed assembly to the lowered position if no object is detected.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an asphalt composition containing an asphalt and an asphalt modifier, the asphalt modifier containing a polyesteramide that contains an alcohol component-derived structural unit, a carboxylic acid component-derived structural unit, and a polyamide component-derived structural unit.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a road construction machine in the form of a road finisher or a feeder vehicle for conveying paving material to a road finisher. The road construction machine is self-propelled and has a primary drive, a material hopper, at least one electrical load, at least one energy storage, and at least one interface which is connectable to a mobile supply machine for energy transmission or energy resources transmission.
Abstract:
A system, apparatus, and method may operatively couple to an integrated generator that supplies power to a component of a mobile machine that intermittently demands power during operation of the mobile machine and to a charging station. On condition that the component in the mobile machine does not need power, power may be supplied to the charging station. On condition that an electric mobile machine is connected to the charging station, power from the charging station may be supplied to the electric mobile machine. Otherwise, power may be supplied to the charging station in an energy accumulator to store the power.
Abstract:
A control system for determining a core temperature of a paving material being paved by a paving machine includes at least one temperature sensor. The temperature sensor generates data indicative of a temperature of the paving material at an auger assembly. The control system further includes a controller in communication with the temperature sensor. The controller receives the data indicative of the temperature of the paving material from the temperature sensor. Further, the controller determines the core temperature of the paving material based on the temperature of the paving material at the auger assembly.
Abstract:
A system is provided for varying the width of a molded concrete slab on the fly as the slab is being molded. Position and height of the paving machine relative to an external reference system are determined and controlled using at least two 3D stringless reference objects. An additional sensor provides a signal corresponding to a frame width and thus a concrete slab width, and an actuator controls the frame width actively as the paving machine advances.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a road paver with a drive, a bunker, a material conveying device, a screed comprising a tamping device and an electric heating device on the screed and/or on the tamping device, wherein a control unit is provided, which is configured in such a manner that it determines, by means of a measurable electrical operating parameter of the electrical heating device on the screed and/or on the tamping device, the weight and/or the center of gravity and/or the width of the screed transversely to the working direction of the screed. The present invention further relates to a method for determining a width and/or a weight and/or a center of gravity of a screed of a road paver, comprising the steps: measuring an electrical variable of a heating device, in particular a heating power, a heating resistance or a power consumption of the heating device; calculating the weight and/or the center of gravity and/or the width of the screed transversely to the working direction of the screed by means of the electrical operating variable.

Abstract:
A screed assembly for a paving machine may comprise a main screed and an extension screed configured to extend from the main screed to a fully-extended position. The extension screed may include a deflector and a material bypass prevention plate affixed to the extension screed. The material bypass prevention plate may have a projection that extends into and fills a space between the material bypass prevention plate and the main screed when the extension screed is in the fully-extended position.
Abstract:
A screed assembly includes a screed and a screed extension, with the screed coupled to the screed extension. The screed further includes an upper frame and a lower frame. The lower frame is adapted to move in a substantially vertical direction and movement in a substantially vertical direction of the lower frame results in corresponding substantially vertical movement of the screed extension.
