摘要: A turf reinforcement mat comprises a lofty polymer grid having integrally attached thereto a fibrous mat. The turf reinforcement mat is preferably produced by needle punching a fibrous mat containing low melt temperature thermoplastic fibers and a lofty polymer grid followed by heating to an elevated temperature to fuse fibers of the fibrous mat to strands of the lofty polymer grid. The integral TRM does not necessitate stitching to hold the various layers together in the integral product.

摘要: An improved device and method for mechanically installing erosion blankets on a ground surface. The device holds a roll of an erosion blanket and provides that the blanket unwind when the device is propelled forward. Upon unwinding, the device positions the blanket on the ground and pins the blanket in position using staples, stakes or the like. Preferred embodiments of the device provide for furrowing of the ground before installation of the blanket.

摘要: The present invention relates to a revegetation and greening system that is used to control erosion and to decorate infertile environments or steep structures. This system comprises one or many revegetation devices. Each device holds self-sufficient materials for growing plant with minimal need for frequent watering or advanced care. A layer of synthetic nets or grids can be placed on the surface of these structures to secure these devices. This system creates a stable and suitable environment for the growth of many plants in various conditions. Furthermore, by using many layers of this system simultaneously, it can provide erosion control and structure decoration in a very short time.

摘要: A biodegradable log includes a strip of absorbent material embedded therein and at least one wick extending from the strip outside of the log. The wick draws moisture into the biodegradable log in order to maintain an aqueous environment for embedded vegetation. Holes may be provided at least partially through the log diameter and along the log length to facilitate log placement and installation.

摘要: A lightweight, non water retaining, biodegradable soil replacement material which may be charged into a flexible non biodegradable synthetic bag. The fill material may be expanded polymeric materials to afford lightweight, insulation and adequate drainage which may be charged into a flexible bag having a mesh composition. The product may be used against foundations, walls, retaining walls, piers, columns, weeping tiles or any other structure where backfill is required. The product may have other applications due to its insulating ability which do not include soil replacement but may simply be to fill a space or opening.

摘要: An artificial root system for gabions to control soil erosion has an anchor which has a nose cone threadable onto a threaded rod and deployable stainless steel blades. On deployment of one or more anchors on each of a series of rods, connectors are attached to the rods. These connectors have four couplers to receive the ends of threaded rods or bars, and a central coupler to receive one (passing through) or two (meeting) threaded rods or bars. Threaded cross bars or rods are attached to the connectors to form a framework to support geotextiles attached to the cross bars or rods to form a gabion, or gabion array. The gabions are then filled with suitable material, to repair, or replace eroded shoreline, river frontage, lake frontage, etc.

摘要: An erosion control blanket comprises a layer of sand, a layer of polyethylene, a blanket layer, a soil-less mixture layer, and a seed mixture. The components are disposed in a blanket of a predetermined configuration, and rolled or folded. A method of making the blanket comprises the steps of constructing a frame, adding a layer of sand inside the frame, adding a layer of polyethylene over the sand layer, adding a blanket layer over the polyethylene, adding a layer of soil-less mixture over the blanket layer, adding a seed mixture to the soil-less mixture, aging the components, and harvesting the aged components. The step of aging preferably includes the steps of adding fertilizer, adding a water retention substance, and watering the components. Preferably, a poly film covers the frame. The step of harvesting preferably includes the steps of cutting the aged components into a predetermined configuration, and rolling or folding the cut components.

摘要: A revetment made wholly or predominantly from concrete, useful to line a stream bed, having upper and lower surfaces, and having upstream and downstream edges, has, for each upstream edge, an upstream bevel, which intersects the upper surface and which intersects said upstream edge. The revetment has an array of holes extending between the upper and lower surfaces. Each hole has a lateral wall flaring outwardly in a downstream direction from a circular mouth at the lower wall to an elongate mouth at the upper wall. Each upstream or downstream edge is stepped so as to define an upper or lower flange. In an assembly of such revetments, which may be connected to one another, as by cables, each of at least some of the upper flanges overlies one of the lower flanges.

摘要: Numerous embodiments of a synthetic drainable base course (nullSDBCnull), and paved structures that may advantageously include an SDBC, are provided. As a key advantage of SDBC's according to the invention, they are of sufficient capacities and structural strength to be used within layered paved structures such as highways, airport runways and parking lots, to provide drainage superior to that afforded by conventional means and methods involving the use of open graded base courses that are typically formed of natural soils and aggregate and are extremely expensive to install. The invention includes means and methods that use conventional heavy equipment for installing an SDBC during the construction of a roadway or other paved surface.
