    Abstract: Systems, devices and methods for diagnosing malfunctioning in a crankcase ventilation (CCV) system are provided. A controller includes a processor and a memory storing instructions that cause the processor to: receive a plurality of pressure values including (i) a first pressure value indicative of a pressure of fluid flowing from a crankcase to a breather assembly of a system, (ii) a second pressure value indicative of a pressure of fluid flowing through a first tube coupled to the breather assembly, and (iii) a third pressure value indicative of a pressure of fluid flowing through a second tube coupled to the breather assembly; determine a pair of pressure differences based on the first pressure value, the second pressure value, and the third pressure value; and detect a malfunctioning in the CCV system based on the pair of pressure differences.

    Abstract: A diagnostic method for an oil piston cooling jet valve of an oil pressure system of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, including: Driving the OPCJ valve for detecting oil pressure diagnostic data if multiple enabling conditions have been met, the multiple enabling conditions including: Presence of a stationary operation of the internal combustion engine; presence of a predetermined operating range; presence of an oil temperature within a predetermined oil temperature range; prevention of a scheduled driving of the OPCJ valve for regular piston cooling; and prevention of an error of the oil pressure system. The diagnostic method further including: Determining whether an oil pressure measuring point is within a predefined oil pressure measuring point range. The invention further relates to a diagnostic device, a control unit and a motor vehicle, which are each suitable or configured for carrying out the method.

    Abstract: A method of controlling an oil pump of a vehicle includes: acquiring, by a controller, information on an engine operating state or a driving condition detected by a driving information detection part; determining, by the controller, whether a predetermined condition of an alternate mode is satisfied on the basis of the acquired information on the engine operating state or the driving condition; and, when the condition of the alternate mode is satisfied, sequentially performing, by the controller, a high-pressure operation control that controls an operation of an oil pump system so as to an oil pressure of an engine to converge on a predetermined target high-pressure value and a low-pressure operation control that controls the oil pressure of the engine to converge on a predetermined target low-pressure value.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an oil supply device for an internal combustion engine, which includes a control unit that controls activation of an electric oil pump and that functions as either a reserve oil level estimator for estimating the level of oil reserved in auxiliary chambers or a reserve oil level detector for detecting the level of the oil reserved there. When it is estimated or detected that the level of the oil reserved in the auxiliary chambers has become equal to or less than a predetermined reserve oil level while the internal combustion engine is OFF, the control unit performs an oil replenishment control to replenish the auxiliary chambers with the oil by activating the electric oil pump.

    Abstract: An engine case includes bearings, an oil pump, lubricating oil passages, and a relief device. The bearings rotatably support a crankshaft and a camshaft. The oil pump and the lubricating oil passages are configured to pressure-feed lubricating oil to the bearings. The relief device is configured to adjust a pressure of the lubricating oil. The lubricating oil passages include main lubricating oil passages. The main lubricating oil passages include communication portions linearly formed with extending portions. The communication portions communicate between the respective bearings of the crankshaft and the camshaft from outside the engine case. The extending portions extend from outside the engine case to the bearing of the camshaft. The relief device is disposed having a relief valve and a relief hole at the extending portions.
