Abstract:
The invention relates to a sensor arrangement (10) for a vacuum brake booster with a brake booster housing comprising at least one vacuum chamber and at least one working chamber that is separated from the latter by a moveable wall and is connectable either to vacuum or at least atmospheric pressure, as well as a bore (34) disposed in the brake booster housing. The sensor arrangement (10) comprises a partition (16) which seals the brake booster housing off from ambient atmosphere when the sensor arrangement (10) is assembled. The sensor arrangement (10) also comprises a carrier element (14), which is passed through the bore (34) and disposed in the interior of the brake booster in the assembled state. A pressure sensor (12) is disposed on the carrier element (14). The carrier element (14) with the pressure sensor (12) projects into the interior of the brake booster housing such that the pressure sensor (12) is positioned in the vacuum chamber or the working chamber of the brake booster.
Abstract:
A master cylinder formed of a forward plastic part snapingly secured to a rearward plastic part. The forward part has a tapered draft angle bore and the rearward part has a purely cylindrical bore aligned with the draft angle bore of the front part and conforming to the diameter of the piston of the cylinder. An annular groove is defined by the parts in surrounding relation to the aligned bores and an annular bearing, having a true cylindrical inner surface corresponding to the diameter of the piston, is positioned in the groove to guide the front end of the piston as the piston moves forwardly into the tapered bore of the forward part.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an actuator (20) for selectively displacing an output member (33) against an opposing load (L) in response to the output (24) of a motor (23). The actuator includes a first transmission mechanism (50) for displacing the output member relative to the motor at a first nominal ratio with respect to the motor output; a second transmission mechanism (60) for displacing the output member relative to the motor at a nominal second ratio with respect to the motor output; a selector (34, 39) for coupling the motor output to the output member only through the first transmission mechanism (50) when the load is less than a predetermined value, and for coupling the motor output to the output member through the first and second transmission mechanisms (50, 60) when the load is greater than the predetermined value. The force exerted by the output member on the load is the sum of the forces transmitted through the first and second transmission mechanisms.
Abstract:
A clutch-actuating device includes a master cylinder actuated by depression of a clutch pedal, an operating cylinder actuated by fluid pressure fed from the master cylinder through a conduit which is connected to the master cylinder or the operating cylinder via a coupling member, and a restriction mechanism for restricting the flow of hydraulic fluid returning from the operating cylinder to the master cylinder, the restriction mechanism being incorporated in the coupling member. The operating cylinder (or master cylinder) of this clutch-actuating device can be commonly used regardless of whether a torque shock protection valve should be incorporated.
Abstract:
A control device for a cylinder (1) is provided with an entrance (4) which is connectable to a pressure source and with an exit (5) which is connectable to the cylinder (1) that is controllable by means of the pressure source. The device (2) comprises means (6 to 12) for defining an intermediate position, not being one of the end positions, in the stroke of the cylinder piston (3). Thus a large number of options for use and application possibilities for the cylinder (1) can be realized in a simple, compact and cheap manner.
Abstract:
A fan assembly comprising two fans (4, 10) for supplying combustible gases to two burners (5, 9) respectively. The flow parts from the first and second burners are combined in a common manifold. Temperature censor (6, 11) detect the temperature of the gases passing through each fan, and the speed of a particular fan is increased if the temperature sensor detects reverse flow of combustion gases.
Abstract:
A master cylinder has a cylinder member in the shape of a cylinder, one end of which is closed, and a piston inserted in the cylinder member to form a pressure chamber in the cylinder member. The cylinder member is formed with a port for providing communication between the pressure chamber and a reservoir. The port is formed during casting of the cylinder member, thereby eliminating the need to form the port by boring, and forming the port into an elongated-hole shaped sectional configuration.
Abstract:
Of first and second two pressure chambers which are respectively formed on both sides of a first rack and a second rack, incompressible liquid is filled in the second pressure chambers which are positioned on the sides of back pressure at a driving time of the racks, and the second pressure chambers of the both racks are caused to communicate with each other via a throttle.
Abstract:
A master cylinder for use in the power train of a motor vehicle to actuate the brakes or the friction clutch is designed to avoid the generation of screeching noise and/or the transmission of stray movements to the piston rod in response to shifting of the piston relative to the housing and relative to the sealing element(s) between the piston and the housing. This can be accomplished by causing the piston to turn relative to the housing and the sealing element(s) during axial movement in the housing and/or by installing one or more dampers between the piston and the housing and/or between the piston and the piston rod. The dampers can constitute separately produced parts and/or specially configured and/or finished surfaces provided on the piston and contacting the housing and/or the sealing element(s). The invention also relates to improvements in the configuration and/or the material(s) of the piston.
Abstract:
An hydraulic system that includes a master cylinder, a slave cylinder, a fluid conduit extending between the cylinders, and a pressure relief valve within the conduit between the cylinders. The pressure relief valve includes at least one port that is closed by an elastic member that overlies the port and that opens when fluid pressure acting through the port exceeds a predetermined level to cause the elastic member to open the port.
