    摘要: A system for remotely controlling an undersea device. The system employs a gas-pressurized liquid reservoir that can be recharged from at least one replaceable gas bottle. A pressure-regulating valve is employed to control the pressure of the liquid leaving the reservoir. A number of one-shot units, each in the form of a squib-actuated valve coupled with a piston accumulator, are employed to create a hydraulic pilot for a hydraulic direction control valve. The control valve functions to direct pressurized liquid from the reservoir to a hydraulic actuator or other type of hydraulic device.

    摘要: A pressurized working environment for a pneumatic device which permits emission-free utilization of the potential mechanical energy of pressure differentials within compressed gas systems is disclosed. The pneumatic device is contained within a pressure vessel and the pneumatic device exhaust is in fluid communication with the interior of the pressure vessel. In use, the interior of the pressure vessel is in fluid communication with an area of lower pressure in the compressed gas system and the pneumatic device intake is in fluid communication with an area of higher pressure in the compressed gas system. In use, the gas from the area of higher pressure drives the pneumatic device and is then exhausted to the area of lower pressure.

    摘要: A torque transmitting mechanism has a hydraulically actuated piston that is slidably disposed in a cavity. An apply chamber, formed by the piston and cavity, is filled with hydraulic fluid when the torque transmitting mechanism is to be engaged. One or more gas permeable—liquid impermeable mats are secured in a passage between the chamber and a non-liquid area in a transmission. During initial engagement of the torque transmitting mechanism, any entrapped air is forced out of the chamber through the mat while the leakage of liquid is inhibited. In a rotating torque transmitting mechanism (clutch), the mats are installed near the innermost periphery of the chamber. In a stationary torque transmitting mechanism (brake) the mats are installed near the top outermost periphery of the chamber.

The invention proposes that a pump piston, on an end toward an eccentric element, be sealed off with a sealing ring, such as a quad ring, that has two axially spaced-apart sealing lips, which sealing ring has radial openings, and also proposes that interstices between the axially spaced-apart sealing lips be connected, through a fluid line, to a fluid supply container from which the piston pump aspirates fluid, or to a pump inlet, whereby in the event of a leak of a sealing lip, the piston pump will aspirate brake fluid through the fluid line and prevent the piston pump from aspirating air from the direction of an eccentric element.

    摘要: A subsea hydraulic control module that is totally enclosed such that the hydraulic fluid does not contact the seawater. The majority of the power for the module comes from the hydrostatic pressure of the sea itself. Two oil-over-seawater actuators each have an internal piston that separates the oil from the seawater. Each actuator is provided with two solenoid valves that control the flow of seawater. A fluid line and one solenoid valve on the seawater side of each actuator is in fluid communication with a seawater recovery reservoir. These two valves are also in fluid communication with each other through a common fluid line to the seawater reservoir. The remaining solenoid valve on the seawater side of each actuator may be selectively opened or closed to the ambient seawater. A hydraulic line on the oil side of each actuator is in fluid communication with the equipment to be controlled. The hydraulic lines from each actuator enter the equipment to be controlled on opposite sides of the equipment to allow control of the equipment. The solenoid valves are opened and closed in selected combinations to open, close, or maintain the equipment in selected operating positions.
