Infinitely variable motion control (IVMC) provides motion control without any requirement for changing gears or use of a clutch. A spur gear transgear, defined as a system having an input, an output and a control, a variable pitch cam having an eccentric inner and outer cam assembly and a driver may be used to form a speed converter. The speed converter is used in various forms to provide an infinitely variable transmission, a differential, embodiments of wind and river turbines and pumps/compressors. In one embodiment, the speed converter drives a direction control assembly (forward, reverse and neutral) and first and second directional control assemblies to provide a vehicle with zero turn radius. A variable torque converter may be used in various embodiments to control torque from a minimum to a maximum by controlling movement of a rotor along a shaft in relation to a stator.

A power transmitting system for hybrid vehicle with first and second planetary gear mechanisms of different ratios used for power derivation: a first planetary gear mechanism (4) dedicated to low vehicle speeds and the second planetary gear mechanism dedicated (5) to the high vehicle speeds. The planetary gear mechanisms are driven in parallel by a thermal engine (1) and by an electric motor (2). The planetary gear mechanisms drive, in parallel, a differential gear (6) connected to wheels (9). Pilot shafts of the planetary gear mechanisms (4) and (5) alternatively connect and disconnect to an electric generator (3) which regulates the driving force of the vehicle by controlling resistive torque through a clutch (7). Advantages of the system include improved efficiency, reduced cost, regenerative braking and power input from an electrical grid.

The present invention relates to a speed-changing transmission hub for a bicycle comprising: a central shaft; a controlling device; a planetary gear system, which comprises a planet gear holder, holding several planet gears; a second ring gear; a first ring gear; and two sun gears. Variations of speed are realized by separately fixing the sun gears of different diameters. There is no switching of input and no reversal of the rotation of the sun gears. The sun gears only need to be controlled by a one-way clutch guided by the controlling device, which is mounted on the central shaft. Thereby the arrangement is simplified and its weight is reduced.

A tractor transmission is synchronized between four different speeds in each of two different high and low ranges and a reverse range. A top shaft coupled to be driven by the tractor engine has four different gears which are concentrically and rotatably spaced along the length thereof in constant mesh with a different one of a second group of four gears formed on the outer surface of a counter shaft. The counter shaft is selectively coupled to the top shaft by either of two pairs of synchronizers concentrically mounted on the top shaft between different pairs of the first four gears. High and low ranges are respectively provided by a first splined collar capable of coupling the counter shaft directly to a differential drive shaft and a second splined collar capable of coupling the differential drive shaft to the fourth gear disposed about the top shaft via a low range driven gear. Upon loss of hydraulic fluid pressure, a planetary gear arrangement coupled between the top shaft and the tractor engine is automatically returned from a direct drive condition to an underdrive condition by mechanical springs within two different clutches associated therewith. Similar safety features are provided in connection with the front wheel drive portion of the transmission.
