    摘要: A shift system related to an improved continuously variable transmission (CVT) may include a power output assembly, a power input assembly, a collar assembly, and a connecting assembly to connect the power output assembly and power input assembly. The shift system is advantageous because it employs only gears and hydraulics for the transmission of power, which can be used in any torque scenario, from low-torque to heavy-duty scenarios such as large passenger automobiles, large trucks and heavy-duty machinery. Furthermore, there is no need to use additional energy to keep the transmission “tight enough” to engage and to prevent any “slipping,” and the overall efficiency of power transmission would be increased.

    摘要: A vehicle power transmission device equipped with a crank type transmission unit is provided in which since a first sprocket provided on an input shaft upstream portion and a second sprocket provided on an output shaft downstream portion are connected by an endless chain, and a dog clutch is disposed between the input shaft main body portion and the input shaft upstream portion, when the input shaft main body portion is seized and becomes non-rotatable, the dog clutch is disengaged so as to detach the input shaft upstream portion from the input shaft main body portion, and the driving force of an engine is transmitted to the output shaft downstream portion via the input shaft upstream portion, the first sprocket, the endless chain and the second sprocket, thereby enabling the vehicle to travel in the minimum necessary way.

    摘要: A geared infinitely variable transmission (GIVT) to provide a continuous output-to-input speed ratio from zero to a certain value is designed, and its working principle is illustrated. Crank-slider systems are used in the GIVT; the output-to-input speed ratio is changed with the crank length. Racks and pinions, controlled by planetary gear sets, are used to change the crank length when the cranks are rotating. One-way bearings rectify the output speeds from different crank-slider systems to obtain the output speed of the GIVT. Noncircular gears are used to minimize variations since the crank-slider systems can introduce variations of the instantaneous speed ratio. A direction control system is provided using planetary gear sets.

    摘要: A drive train system for human powered vehicles whereby the pedals move in a linear or slightly curved path, providing a superior ergonomic ride. Power is transmitted from the pedals by a flexible drive tension transmitting component to two one way locking continuous variable radius helicoids mounted on a shaft by means of a one way locking mechanism. The pedals move alternatively back and forth pulling the cables and unwinding (active phase) their corresponding helicoids and thus transferring spinning motion to the shaft. The helicoids act as a set of sprockets of continuous variable radius optimizing the ergonomic delivery of leg power to the shaft. A step-less shifting system alters the length of cable wound in the helicoids and can manually select the “zone” of the helicoids utilized for optimal power transmission. This gearing system can manually adjust the power-speed ratio according to the environment demands, akin to a gear system.

    摘要: An infinitely and continuously variable transmission system capable of gradually multiplying TORQUE while decreasing RPM and vice-versa. For a given input shaft TORQUE and RPM, the system delivers to the output shaft such increases or reductions in TORQUE with inversely corresponding increases or reductions in RPM as may be desired across a predetermined and very wide range of transmission ratios. The range can include zero RPM for the output shaft while the input shaft continues to rotate at any RPM, thus eliminating the need for an input shaft disengaging clutch. The invention includes a main assembly consisting of one or more pairs of co-axial diametrically opposed one-way clutches and corresponding pairs of diametrically opposed carrying shafts which are interconnected through a central hub assembly. The axes of the carrying shafts share the same plane with each other and with the central hub's multi-directional center around which they are radially and symmetrically mounted. The freewheels are engaged in one rotational direction and disengaged in the opposite rotational direction of their carrying shafts and are in turn continuously and interactionally meshed to a common rotatable output gear. The infinitely and continuously variable TORQUE and RPM ratios are produced by causing the freewheel carrying shafts to rotatably oscillate at gradually variable oscillation arcs thereby causing their respective freewheels to smoothly rotate the common output gear at correspondingly variable rotation speeds through a simultaneous combination of the oscillation arc magnitude of their carrying shaft rotatable oscillations and their corresponding engagement/disengagement action.

    摘要: A transmission having ratios from 0:1 to 1:1 is disclosed; the transmission comprises a plurality of clutches for producing a partial rotational output from a reciprocating input, an output gear for collecting the partial output of the clutches, an input gear for providing rotational input to a varicrank (i.e. an index plate/web shaft slidably and rotably disposed in a rotatable cylindrical block), and a varicrank (i.e. an index plate/web shaft slidably and rotatably disposed in a rotatable cylindrical block) for producing reciprocal motion on the clutches. The varicrank has a variably offset center web member having a plurality of connecting rods secured thereto corresponding to the number of clutches and a plurality of crank arms pivotally secured to the connecting rods. The ratio of the transmission is adjusted by moving a ratio control rod which increases or decreases the amount of offset of the center web, and accordingly the amount of reciprocating motion applied to the crank arms by the connecting rods.
