摘要: A master cylinder for use in the power train of a motor vehicle to actuate the brakes or the friction clutch is designed to avoid the generation of screeching noise and/or the transmission of stray movements to the piston rod in response to shifting of the piston relative to the housing and relative to the sealing element(s) between the piston and the housing. This can be accomplished by causing the piston to turn relative to the housing and the sealing element(s) during axial movement in the housing and/or by installing one or more dampers between the piston and the housing and/or between the piston and the piston rod. The dampers can constitute separately produced parts and/or specially configured and/or finished surfaces provided on the piston and contacting the housing and/or the sealing element(s). The invention also relates to improvements in the configuration and/or the material(s) of the piston.

摘要: A collapsible push rod for a brake booster in a vehicle is provided, having first and second telescoping members, and retractable locking means for selectively locking the first and second members together against telescoping. During a frontal impact collision, the members telescope into one another to shorten the length of the push rod and compensate for rearward movement of the brake booster and forward movement of the driver. The push rod is operable in the collapsed state. The push rod is also re-settable after the collision, and includes features for returning the push rod to its normal un-telescoped length following the collision, if the push rod is not damaged in the collision. The retractable locking means includes an electrically actuated solenoid for selectively locking and unlocking the first and second members against telescoping, in response to an electrical signal applied to the solenoid.

摘要: A fluid actuator attaches a hinged safety device to a vehicle and pivots the hinged safety device between retracted and extended positions. The housing of the actuator has a base and a removable cover. A sub-assembly is attached to the base. The subassembly includes a generally planar base member with integral right cylinder, lever arm pivot support and stop posts. A piston slides in the right cylinder and forms a fluid chamber between the piston and a closed end of the right cylinder that is fed through a passage through the closed end of the cylinder. A lever arm is pivotally attached to the lever arm pivot support at one end for pivotal movement between retracted and extended positions, the lever arm extending over the cylinder and having a lip at an opposite end that is spaced from the right cylinder. A pivot arm engages the top of the piston at one end and the lever arm at an opposite end to transfer motion from the piston to the lever arm. The lever arm transfers motion to a rotor that is rotationally mounted in the housing for movement between retracted and extended positions. The rotor has a spool at each end and an eccentric arm between the spools at the respective ends of the rotor that engages the lip of the lever arm. A torsion spring encircles each spool with one end engaging the rotor and an opposite end engaging a stop post so that the eccentric arm is biased against the lip of the lever arm and the rotor and the lever arm are biased to their respective retracted positions. The rotor and torsion springs are formed into a pre-assembled unit for the sub-assembly by preload spring clips.

摘要: Provided is a force-controlled hydro-elastic actuator, including a hydraulic actuator, having a connection to hydraulic fluid and including a mechanical displacement member positioned to be mechanically displaced by fluid flow at the actuator. A valve is connected at the hydraulic actuator connection and has a port for input and output of fluid to and from the valve. At least one elastic element is provided in series with the mechanical displacement member of the hydraulic actuator and is positioned to deliver, to a load, force generated by the hydraulic actuator. A transducer is positioned to measure a physical parameter indicative of the force delivered by the elastic element and to generate a corresponding transducer signal. A force controller is connected between the transducer and the valve to control the valve, based on the transducer signal, for correspondingly actuating the hydraulic actuator and deflecting the elastic element.

摘要: A fluid actuator attaches a hinged safety device to a vehicle and pivots the hinged safety device between retracted and extended positions. 摘要: A side strut (5) for a lower steering arm of a tractor has a single-action hydraulic cylinder with a cylinder housing (9) and a piston (16). The piston includes a hollow cylinder (17) with a base (18). In the hollow cylinder (17), a rod-shaped element (20) is adjustable against the force of a spring from a moved-in position into a moved-out position. Because the piston (16) and the setting element (20) move in the same direction, it is possible to achieve a telescopic design which leads to a short installation length which, in turn, results in a more advantageous buckling strength.
