Abstract: A sliding component having an annular shape is disposed in a place where relative rotation is performed in a rotary machine, in which a plurality of dynamic pressure generating mechanisms are provided in a sliding surface of the sliding component, each including a deep groove portion that communicates with an outer diameter side, and at least one shallow groove portion that communicates with the deep groove portion and extends in a circumferential direction, and the deep groove portion is provided with a trap portion that suppresses a sealed liquid in the deep groove portion from leaking to a leakage side.

Abstract: An end effector is disclosed for use with a surgical robotic manipulator and a cutting accessory. The end effector comprises a nose tube for receiving the cutting accessory and an actuator for driving the cutting accessory. The end effector may also comprise a mounting fixture for coupling the end effector to the surgical robotic manipulator and a handle for gripping by the user. The handle may be coupled to the nose tube and configured to rotate about the axis of the nose tube. The end effector may also comprise a lever coupled to the handle and moveable between depressed and released positions. The end effector may further comprise an activator coupled to the lever and configured to interact with a sensor for sensing the position of the lever.

Abstract: A seal assembly is for sealing a bearing disposed between an inner shaft and an outer hub and includes an annular inner case having an axial section disposable about the shaft shoulder and a radial section extending radially outwardly from the axial section. An annular outer case is disposed about the inner case, has an axial section coupleable with the hub and a radial section extending radially inwardly from the outer case axial section and spaced axially from the inner case radial section. An elastomeric seal member is attached to the outer case radial section and has a sealing lip sealingly engaged with the axial section of the inner case. An annular positioner is coupled with the inner case and has a radial section engageable with the axial end of the bearing inner ring so as to locate the inner case at a desired position along the central axis.

Abstract: A seal assembly includes a seal disposed about a shaft and having an annular body with a radial sealing surface and an inner circumferential sealing surface engageable with the shaft. A housing is disposed about the shaft and has a first inner circumferential surface defining a first annular chamber about the shaft, the seal being disposed within the first annular chamber, a second inner circumferential surface spaced radially inwardly from the first inner circumferential surface and spaced from the outer surface of the shaft by a radial clearance so as to define a second annular chamber. A radial seal contact surface extends between the first and second inner circumferential surfaces and is sealingly engageable by the sealing surface of the seal to prevent flow between the two chambers, and circumferential pressure groove(s) are formed in the seal contact surface and are fluidly coupled with the first chamber.

Abstract: A wheelend assembly seal between the hub of a wheelend and a spindle shaft is provided. The wheelend assembly seal is a seal device having at least a static seal structure, a wear ring, and a dynamic seal structure. The dynamic seal structure comprises a resilient member that is biased such that in an uninstalled state, the resilient member diverges from an axially extending portion of the dynamic seal structure. When installed, the resilient member is compressed to be approximately parallel the axially extending portion and forms a seal between the surface of the resilient member and the outer surface of the spindle shaft.

Abstract: There is provided a rotary seal having uneven surfaces formed on sliding contact surfaces of a slinger with which seal lip portions of a seal member come in contact, in which wear of the seal lip portions is reduced, resulting in increased reliability.
