    摘要: Apparatus for the complete and controlled combustion of combustible materials, particularly gases and combustible distillates produced by incomplete combustion and distillation products of various classes of carbonaceous fuels, waste materials, and the like. The apparatus comprises a generally vertical chamber into which the material is introduced at the top and is admixed with air. The material moves downwardly during combustion thereof and the products of combustion which are gaseous are discharged from the side of the chamber near the bottom while solid products of combustion are withdrawn from the bottom of the chamber. There may, advantageously, be provided a vessel at the bottom of the chamber to receive the solid products of combustion and this vessel includes valves for controlling the passage of material therethrough so that the chamber can be operated at subatmospheric pressure. At the top, the chamber is always at subatmospheric pressure, and the material to be burned is drawn into the chamber by suction.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for heat treating metals to remove contaminants. Contaminated scrap metal is fed into one end of a rotating inclined retort. Heat is applied to the retort as the scrap metal is conveyed therein to remove the contaminant, and the processed metal is discharged from the opposite end of the retort. Combustible waste gases generated through the processing are fed to an afterburner where the combustible gases are burned and are discharged from the afterburner into a stack. A portion of the hot combusted gases are returned from the stack to the discharge end of the retort to thereby minimize oxidation of the scrap metal being treated as well as conserving fuel.

    摘要: This invention relates to a method and device for converting energy by combustion of solid fuel, especially incineration of bio-organic fuels and municipal solid waste to produce heat energy and which operates with very low levels of NOx, CO and fly ash, in which that the oxygen flow in the first and second combustion chambers in at least one separate zone and by sealing off the entire combustion chambers in order to eliminate penetration of false air into the chambers, the temperatures in the first and second combustion chamber are strictly controlled, in addition to the regulation of the oxygen flow, by admixing a regulated amount of recycled flue gas with the fresh air which is being led into each of the chambers in each of the at least one separate zones, and both the recycled flue gas and fresh combustion gases are filtered in unburned solid waste in the first combustion chamber by sending the unburned solid waste and the gases in a counter-flow before entering the gases into the second combustion chamber.

    摘要: This invention relates to a regenerating, hazardous waste gas fume and odor incinerator. The incinerator comprises a combustion chamber (12) and at least three heat exchanger regenerator beds (26, 28, 30) through which the waste gases pass selectively for preheating on their way to the combustion chamber and the processed, heated gases are passed through for cooling before exhausted. All three regenerator beds are cycled from a cooling position in which they absorb heat from the previously processed gases to a second position where they preheat waste gases en route to the combustion chamber to an inactive position where they do not receive gases either from the waste supply or from the combustion chamber. The waste gases, after being preheated, are directed to the combustion chamber through a plenum chamber (14) in which is located a combustion burner (16). The preheated waste gases are directed through the flame of the burner into the combustion chamber for ignition and for combustion therein. The incinerator has a flow control valve system (37, 39, 41, 43) and a computer controller (80) for cycling the regenerator beds as noted herein.
