摘要: A heat generating cell includes: a support having tubular shape; and a multilayer film formed on an inner peripheral surface of the support for generating heat by occlusion and discharge of hydrogen. A heat generating device includes: a plurality of the heat generating cells; a sealed container; a plurality of separators dividing an inside of the sealed container into a first space, a second space, and a third space in an axial direction of the sealed container, the first space and the second space being locating at both ends in the axial direction in the sealed container; and a heater for heating each of the plurality of heat generating cells. The plurality of heat generating cells penetrate through the plurality of separators, and both ends of each of the plurality of heat generating cells in an axial direction are respectively opened to the first space and the second space.

Disclosed materials include hydride-based alloys that can undergo high temperature reversible hydrogenation/dehydrogenation reactions without phase change of any metal or metalloid components of the alloy. The materials undergo a reversible exothermic hydrogenation reaction to form a metal hydride and a ternary alloy that includes a high thermal conductivity metal that, in its pure state, would exhibit a phase change at the hydrogenation reaction conditions.

摘要: A heat generating device includes a container, a heat generating element, and a heater. A hydrogen-based gas contributing to heat generation is introduced into the container. The heat generating element is provided inside the container. The heater is configured to heat the heat generating element. The heat generating element includes a base made of a hydrogen storage metal, a hydrogen storage alloy, or a proton conductor, and a multilayer film provided on a surface of the base. The multilayer film having a stacking configuration of: a first layer that is made of a hydrogen storage metal or a hydrogen storage alloy, and a second layer that is made of a hydrogen storage metal, a hydrogen storage alloy, or ceramics different from that of the first layer. The first layer and the second layer have a layer shape with a thickness of less than 1000 nm.

A method of making an insulated container may include preparing an outer skin barrier layer, stacking a thermoregulation layer on the outer skin barrier layer, stacking a thermal insulation layer on the thermoregulation layer, and stacking an inner skin barrier layer on the thermal insulation layer.

The multilayer film has a first layer made of a hydrogen storage metal or a hydrogen storage alloy and having a thickness of less than 1000 nm and a second layer made of a hydrogen storage metal or a hydrogen storage alloy, which is different from that of the first layer, or ceramics and having a thickness of less than 1000 nm.

The present invention pertains to: a heat generation method characterized by comprising colliding, in an electrochemical reaction that proceeds in an electrolysis cell, ionic vacancies having a positive charge generated at an anode and ionic vacancies having a negative charge generated at a cathode; and a heat generation device characterized by being equipped with an electrolysis cell provided with an anode and a cathode and an electrolyte solution accommodated within the electrolysis cell, and by generating heat by colliding ionic vacancies of opposite signs generated by causing the electrochemical reaction to proceed in the electrolysis cell via the anode and the cathode.
