摘要:
The disclosure relates to a melting furnace, for example a two-chamber furnace, for the recovery of aluminum from aluminum scrap. This has a scrap chamber (2), with a dry hearth (6), the surface of which provided for receiving aluminum scrap is arranged above the surface of an aluminum melt (7) located in the scrap chamber (2) during operation of the melting furnace (1), and a heating chamber (3), which has at least one burner (9) for fuel firing, the heating chamber (3) and the scrap chamber (2) being separated from one another by a partition wall (11), the partition wall (11) having at least one opening (12) for recirculation of the aluminum melt (7) between the heating chamber (3) and the scrap chamber (2). Further, a refractory lining of the surface of the dry hearth (6) and/or a refractory lining of the inner wall of the scrap chamber (2) in the region of the dry hearth (6) have channels (18) which can be acted upon by hot gas and are designed to absorb heat from the hot gas and to release it to the aluminum scrap located on the surface of the dry hearth (6) for its thermal pretreatment.

The present application provides a heat exchange assembly for exchanging heat between a coolant and a gaseous medium. The heat exchange assembly may include an outer jacket, a number of gas tubes positioned within the outer jacket, and a self-cleaning system positioned about the gas tubes. The self-cleaning system may include a number of chains extending through the gas tubes.

A steel production facility and a method of uninterrupted, or at least cyclical, steelmaking in the facility. In the case of uninterrupted steelmaking at least the first three of the following steps and in case of cyclical steelmaking all five steps are performed: charge materials are molten uninterruptedly or cyclically in an electric arc furnace; the charge materials (e.g., shredded scrap-iron pieces shredded in a shredding-system for shredding discarded iron and/or steel junk), Direct Reduced Iron and/or Hot Briquette Iron are uninterruptedly or continuously during a melting process cycle fed into the electric arc furnace; a part of liquid steel is uninterruptedly or cyclically discharged from the steel bath of the electric arc furnace; from the thermic energy included in the hot process-exhaust of the electric arc furnace, electric energy is, by means of power generation, generated uninterruptedly or at least during a melting process cycle; a shredding-system assigned to the electric arc furnace for shredding the scrap is powered by the electric energy generated from the process exhaust.

An indirect-fired gas turbine power plant comprises a compressor; a turbine mechanically coupled to the compressor; a furnace; a heat exchanger inside the furnace and fluidly coupled at an inlet end to the compressor and at an outlet end to the turbine; and means for forming a gas barrier around a portion of the heat exchanger to impede combustion products from contacting the heat exchanger. Such means can be a plurality of gas discharge manifolds located around a portion of the heat exchanger. The manifolds can be coupled to heated working gas exhausted by the turbine.

A method and apparatus for improving the performance of a regenerative burner has a combustion chamber which receives and combusts controllable amounts of auxiliary fuel, an oxidizing gas, and possibly air to form hot combustion products. A controllable amount of a main fuel is then delivered to the combustion chamber and is pyrolyzed by the hot combustion products to produce a hot flame. By controlling the flame, one can maintain optimal temperature of the combustion air passing through the flame. Sensing means and computing means allow for automatic adjustments of fuel, oxygen and air flow to further maintain optimal combustion air temperatures.

This invention relates to a method and a device for pre-heating waste metal for furnaces, fuel gases generated in a furnace (1) being supplied simultaneously or sequentially to two pre-heating places (3, 4) with waste metal containers (14), said flue gases being made to flow through a combustion chamber (19) provided with a burner (20) before being supplied to the pre-heating places (3, 4), said burner (20) producing a variable amount of hot gases for admixture with the flue gases from the furnace (1) and superheating thereof. After flowing through the waste metal containers (14) burnt flue gases are supplied to a gas cleaning plant (5) for flue gases and unburnt flue gases to the combustion chamber (19) for further combustion, after which the flue gases now burnt are supplied to said gas cleaning plant (5).

A heat recovery and storage system for use in connection with a melting furnace. In such system, heat from the exhaust gas of a melting furnace is recovered and used to preheat scrap metal and to maintain such preheated scrap metal in its preheated form until it is charged into the melting furnace.

In a regenerative furnace of the type used for melting glass, localized overheating of the regenerator packing is minimized, heating of the regenerator packing is made more uniform, and regenerator efficiency is improved by employing flow control gas jets in the space alongside the regenerator packing to counteract flow imbalances in the regenerator.
