    摘要: The effectiveness of an evaporative cooler is increased in a construction having a housing (10) provided with an air entrance (18) and an air exit (20) together with a substantially closed air flow path (32) extending between the entrance (18) and the exit (20). A body (34) of evaporative cooling media is within the housing (10) and extends across the air path (32). The body has an upper end (39) and upstream and downstream sides (46), (38). A water distribution plate (54) is located above the body (34) and has an elongated edge (60) which contacts the body (34) along the entire length of the edge (60) at a location at or closely adjacent the upstream side (46). A spring (78) biases the edge (60) against the body (34) and a water distribution header (64) overlies the water distribution plate (54) and directs water onto the plate (54) as a plurality of merging streams.

    摘要: A method for evaporating liquid, in which a drum 1 in which there are passages 8 which extend across the thickness of the drum wall 3 is rotated in a trough 5 containing evaporation liquid 6, while a gas is fed from the drum 1 to the passages 8 is provided. As a result of the gas being passed through, the liquid which has been absorbed by the drum 1 evaporates, with the result that heat is extracted from the system of drum 1 and gas passed through. Depending on conditions, the method can be used to cool, for example flows of processed water or to cool air or to desalinate water. A device for carrying out the method and a drum which can be used in the device are also provided.

    摘要: A separated type air conditioner with evaporative condensing apparatus comprises an outdoor unit and at least one indoor unit which the outdoor unit includes an evaporative condensing apparatus, a water chiller type evaporating apparatus and a comparative low pressure compressor for circulating a cooling medium system between the condensing apparatus and the evaporating apparatus within the outdoor unit to avoid long distance medium transmitting for improving the energy saving and environment protecting, and characteristically that the evaporative condensing apparatus comprises an evaporative water intermittent supply system to supply water onto a layer of absorptive material covered on the condensing coils intermittly through an electromagnetic valve automatically controlled by a PC board to assume that the amount of water once supplied to the absorptive material will be approximately fully evaporated within a controlled intermittence to provide a highest effect for absorbing evaporative latent heat form the gas state medium in the condensing coils so as to obtain an extreme low temperature that the medium can be condensed by a low relative critical pressure in using a comparative low power medium compressor for saving a large amount of energy therefore, while each indoor unit is respectively formed of a chilled water/air heat exchanger for cooling the air currents to an ideal condition by the chilled water delivered from the outdoor unit through a water circulating piping system.
