摘要： A training cartridge includes a metallic cartridge case with a case shoulder and dummy projectile having a gas exhaust opening at its front end. A propellant charge powder chamber of the cartridge case is closed in the forward direction by means of a cup-shaped closure element that is inserted in the cartridge case close to the case shoulder and that bursts or ruptures during firing under the action of the powder gases along predetermined intentional breaking zones. Toward the rear, the powder chamber is sealed by means of a bottom piece inserted in the cartridge case. By placing the intentional opening zones into the interior of the cartridge, danger of injury by the ejected cartridge case is reduced to a minimum.

摘要： An adaptor cartridge permitting the use of rim-fire ammunition in a center-fire weapon. The adaptor comprises a tubular casing with an inner passageway located at an acute angle to the tubular casing at the lower end where the firing pin strikes. The opening of the cylindrically-shaped passage at the lower end crosses the center point of the lower end of the tubular casing so that the centrally-located firing pin of the weapon will strike the rim of an insert blank cartridge which is rim-fired and which has been placed in the adaptor cartridge.

摘要： A novel shotgun wad is disclosed for use in a practice cartridge which includes a conventional tubular casing having a closed end and an open opposite end, the wad having a first cup portion facing a detonable primer charge at the closed end of the casing, and having a second cup portion facing the open end of the casing and defining a rounded aerodynamic flight end. Upon detonation of the primer charge, the wad is projected outwardly from the casing with the rounded flight end thereof facilitating a truer flight trajectory than obtainable without the rounded end.

摘要： A cartridge shaped barrel insert is described that can be used as the barrel of a pistol and as a rimfire cartridge insert for a large bore weapon. The cartridge insert includes an internal secondary firing pin that can be actuated to fire a rimfire cartridge by a hammer on the pistol frame or by the usual hammer and center fire mechanism of a large bore weapon. A resilient pad within the insert yieldably urges the secondary firing pin away from the breech end of the barrel. A cap can be placed over the bullet of the rimfire cartridge to match the bore of a large bore center-fire weapon. When the cartridge is fired, the rimfire bullet and cap will be driven by expanding gases along the weapon barrel, with the barrel bore guiding the cap and bullet in the same manner as a conventional large bore bullet.
