    摘要: A wellbore perforating system and method with reliable and safer connections in a perforating gun assembly is disclosed. The system/method includes a gun string assembly (GSA) deployed in a wellbore with multiple perforating guns attached to plural switch subs. The perforating guns are pre-wired with a cable having multi conductors; the multi conductors are connected to electrical ring contacts on either end of the perforating guns. The switch subs are configured with electrical contacts that are attached to the electrical contacts of the perforating guns without the need for manual electrical connections and assembly in the field of operations. The system further includes detonating with a detonator that is positioned upstream of the perforating gun. The detonator is wired to a switch that is positioned downstream of the perforating gun.

    摘要: A method of detonating explosive charges for the breaking of rock and ore comprises the use of two sets of components, one set within the explosive charge and the other set at the surface of the explosive. The set within the exposive comprises a detonator, a first delay element and a passive energy storage device such as a capacitor. The second set which is able to communicate with the first comprises a power source, a second delay element and a means for receiving signals from a remote command source. In a preferred embodiment, the first delay element has a fixed delay and the second delay element has a programmable delay.The method permits of versatility and precision in the use of explosives, using relatively inexpensive components.

    摘要: For the chronologically staggered initiation of a plurality of electronic explosive delay detonators connected together with a blasting detonating machine, a signal current produced in each explosive detonator by signals sent by the blasting detonating machine, for example an impulse sequence, is integrated up in order to establish the delay time and, for carrying out of the delay, is integrated anew or integrated down to equality of the integrals or of the starting values. According to the invention, the integrating up begins in all explosive detonators simultaneously, with the end of the integrating up being controlled by signals from the blasting detonating machine. This end and accordingly the time period can be the same for all explosive charge detonators, while the two signal currents are possibly the same with the relative differences of the delay times being determined by the ratio of the signal currents which are different with setting and subsequent carrying out of the delay, or the end points of the integrations up or are different for each detonator. For increasing the safety, before the setting of the delay time, an impulse sequence with determined form is sent out from the blasting detonating machine and checked in each electronic explosive detonator so that the setting of false delay values by spurious signals is avoided. An energy storer in each explosive detonator is charged up only after successful checking of the impulse sequence at a value sufficient for initiation of the detonation.

    摘要: A method of charging a borehole with a column of explosives is described wherein the explosive charge is detonable in time-delay sequence by means of electrically initiated detonators. The method requires providing a loop of an insulated electrical conductor throughout the length of the borehole and, as the borehole is charged with explosives, sliding electrically actuable time-delay detonators along the wire so as to be positioned at intervals throughout the borehole. The detonators are electrically coupled to the looped wire by means of slidable toroidal transformer cores. The wire loop, in turn, is electromagnetically energized by means of a second transformer core and an energy source. The method provides for safe and efficient borehole charging and avoids the hazards associated with usual electric detonator systems.
