Abstract: The present invention relates to a measuring apparatus for measuring the temperature of a molten metal bath, comprising an optical device, a detecting means, a storing unit for the optical device, a rotatable support for the storing unit for the optical device, a moving means, a straightening means, a housing and a guiding system connected to the housing. The housing encloses the detecting means, the storing unit for the optical device, the rotatable support for the storing unit of the optical device, the moving means, and the straightening means. The moving means is adapted to feed and retract the optical device and comprises at least one motor for forward and backward driving the rotatable support for the storing unit for the optical device and a feeding means for feeding the optical device driven by at least one motor for forward and backward driving.

A membrane structure (234) disposed within the cavity comprises the thermopile (256). The membrane structure (234) also comprises a heating element, and a shortest distance from substantially any point on the membrane structure (234) to the periphery of the sensor cavity (214) is less than the mean free path of the gas at the predetermined pressure.

Abstract: A sensor unit includes: a conductive path structure; a sensor element; a lower housing including a sensor element accommodation part; a coil spring; and an upper housing. The lower housing includes a support portion, and the upper housing includes a positioning protrusion that protrudes in the shape of a tapered tube toward the lower housing, and is inserted into another end of the coil spring in the axial direction. The lower housing is displaceable toward the positioning protrusion, the coil spring includes an engagement projection that projects to the inner circumferential side thereof so as to be deflectable and deformable. The positioning protrusion has a receiving recess, and the engagement projection is received and locked in the receiving recess, so that the coil spring is held by the upper housing.

Abstract: A temperature sensor includes a platinum member having a base portion and a plurality of prongs extending from the base portion. The platinum member is positioned within a housing that includes a first platform having a first support surface supporting the base portion, and a second platform having a second support surface spaced apart from the first support surface. The second support surface supports an end portion of at least one prong of the plurality of prongs, and medial portions of the plurality of prongs between the first and second support surfaces are suspended at a distance from an interior surface of the housing. In some cases, the housing further includes one or more support members between the first and second platforms that project from the interior surface of the housing toward the medial portion of one or more prongs to limit an amount of bending of the prongs.

Furthermore, the object is solved by an exhaust gas temperature sensor arrangement (1), preferably comprising such a wire shielding (9), and a method for assembling the exhaust gas temperature sensor arrangement (1).
