摘要: Novel hybridisation assay probes and mixtures of such probes for detecting a target sequence of one or mycobacteria optionally present in a sample. The probes may suitable be directed to target sequences of mycobacterial rDNA, precursor rRNA, or rRNA, said probes being capable of forming detectable hybrids. The probes are in particular directed to mycobacterial rDNA, to precursor rRNA, or to 23S, 16S or 5S rRNA The probes are useful for detecting the organisms in test samples such as sputum, laryngeal swabs, gastric lavage, bronchial washings, biopsies, aspirates, expectorates, body fluids (spinal, pleural, pericardial, synovial, blood, pus, bone marrow), urine, tissue sections as well as food samples, soil, air and water samples, and cultures thereof.

摘要: The invention is directed to methods for detecting, monitoring and/or diagnosing aberrant cellular proliferation, and disorders associated therewith, such as cancer, and/or infection by microorganisms. The detection, monitoring and/or diagnosis comprises contacting a compound of the invention with a cell or fluid sample. Compound binding confirms the presence of an abnormal cell or a protein associated with an abnormal cell or infection by one or more microorganisms, and/or disorders associated with infection by one or more microorganisms.

摘要: An evanescent-field sensor system and method of using the system to detect either liquid- or airborne biological pathogens, chemical agents, and other harmful or toxic species is provided. The sensor system involves 1) an evanescent-field sensor having a substrate surface with at least a partial bio- or chemo-responsive layer, which forms a part of a serially renewable sensing region; 2) an optical interrogation apparatus for monitoring the bio- or chemo-responsive layer; and 3) an air-fluid delivery system. The optical interrogation apparatus has a light source, an optical delivery system, and a detection instrument or device. The air-fluid delivery system includes either macro or micro-fluidic passages designed to convey biological or chemical analytes to a sensing region.

摘要: It is intended to provide novel lipopolysaccharide adsorbents (bacteriotoxin adsorbents) which can be easily synthesized and modified into various analogous structures and are usable in adsorbing various lipopolysaccharides and a method of screening the same. A method of screening a bacteriotoxin adsorbent characterized by performing a binding assay with a peptide library with the use of a lipid A radioisotope-labeled preparation wherein a radioisotope has been introduced into a phosphonoxyethyl derivative of biosynthetic precursor type lipid A or Escherichia coli type lipid A; and bacteriotoxin adsorbents comprising a specific peptide library which are found out by the above screening method.
