    摘要: A two-wire process variable transmitter for use in an industrial process, including a process variable sensor configured to sense a process variable of a fluid of the industrial process. Output circuitry is configured to provide an output on a two-wire process control loop which is related to the sensed process variable. Loop current measurement circuitry measures a loop current flowing through the two-wire process control loop and terminal voltage measurement circuitry measures a voltage related to a terminal voltage of the process variable transmitter. The terminal voltage can be a voltage measured across an electrical connection of the two-wire process variable transmitter to the two-wire process control loop. Input circuitry is configured to receive a diagnostic command from the two-wire process control loop. A microprocessor configured to perform loop diagnostics on the two-wire process control loop based upon the measured loop current and terminal voltage in response to receipt of a diagnostic command from the two-wire process control loop.

    摘要: A wheel is mounted on a rotating shaft and cooperates with at least one pair of inductors fixedly mounted in juxtaposition to the wheel. The wheel has at least one opening formed therein for generating a signal whenever the opening in the wheel is substantially aligned circumferentially with the pair of inductors. An electronic control circuit, responsive to the signal, actuates a remote meter for providing a remote indication of the shaft position. In a preferred embodiment, this improved sensing means is applied to the remote reading of a conventional household electric meter. Two pair of inductors are provided for cooperation with five equiangularly-spaced closed slots formed in the wheel, thereby providing ten signals (or counts) for each complete revolution of the wheel. The wheel is mounted on the shaft of the unit decade dial in the meter. The remote meter comprises a digital counter, responsive to the pulse generated by the electronic control circuit, for providing a remote digital read-out of the accumulated kilowatt hours on the meter.

    摘要: A utility meter has a plurality of rotating shafts which have angular positions corresponding to the digits of a consumption reading. A cam is attached to that shaft which is associated with the least significant digit. The cam has a light reflecting track. Light from a light source is reflected off the track to a photodetector along an optical path which varies in length in accordance with angular cam position. Electronic circuitry is connected to the light source and photodetector and produces an output signal in digital form which has a frequency related to intensity of light incident upon the photodetector.

    摘要: A system and method for using loop topology identification to investigate a transmission line having a plurality of cable segments. At a measurement plane for each segment, a probing signal is transmitted into the cable. A reflected signal is detected, and an equivalent total input impedance is calculated. The system iteratively calculates the distance between the measurement planes as well as the length, characteristic impedance, and the propagation constant of each segment. A model is used to calculate the respective equivalent input impedance of each segment using the calculated characteristic impedance, propagation constant, and length of the preceding segment. The equivalent total input impedance is then calculated from the iteratively calculated segment values.
