Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating access to shooting statistics data for a basketball player are provided. A user interface receives a user selection of identifying information for the basketball player and a subset of plurality of pass receipt locations located about a basketball playing surface for an ejector to pass said basketballs to as part of a basketball practice drill for the basketball player. A detector detects passage of basketballs through a rim of a basketball goal to indicate a made basketball shot. A control system commands the ejector to launch at least one basketball towards each pass receipt location in the subset. One or more remote electronic devices electronically store data indicating the player's success in making shots from the pass receipt location in the subset in association with the identifying information.

Abstract: A radar apparatus includes a transmitting array antenna that transmits signals orthogonal to one another from a plurality of transmitting antennas, a receiving array antenna that receives the signals reflected from a target by a plurality of receiving antennas, and a signal processing unit that detects the target from reception signals received by the plurality of receiving antennas. The signal processing unit includes a correlation matrix calculation unit that determines a first correlation matrix corresponding to the transmitting array antenna and a second correlation matrix corresponding to the receiving array antenna, on the basis of the reception signals separated by a separation unit, and a detection unit that detects the target on the basis of an evaluation value calculated using eigenvectors of the first correlation matrix and the second correlation matrix.

Abstract: Systems for assisting a user with programming of a custom basketball shots made in a row practice arrangement includes a control system which receives data from a user interface indicating a user selection of a number of shots to be made in a row at each of a subset of pass receipt locations in the custom basketball shots made in a row practice arrangement and command a ball ejector to launch basketballs to a particular one of the pass receipt locations in the subset until data is received indicating that the number of shots is made in a row is made, and instead begin launching basketballs to a second particular one of the plurality of pass receipt locations in the subset. The control system also generates data for a report indicating performance feedback for the user during the custom basketball shots made in a row practice arrangement.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing performance feedback regarding a basketball practice session are provided. A user interface associated with the basketball launching machine accepts user input indicating a subset of various locations at a basketball playing area for a basketball launching machine to provide basketball passes for a player to catch and shoot towards a basketball goal for said basketball practice session. At least one detection device ascertains whether the player succeeds in making a goal, and at least one processor retrieves data from the detection device and generates graphical output indicating the player's success in making goals for the basketball practice session displayed in a spatial layout visually corresponding to where the basketballs were passed.

Abstract: A radar sensing system for a vehicle includes a transmitter configured for installation and use on a vehicle and able to transmit radio signals. The radar sensing system also includes a receiver and a processor. The receiver is configured for installation and use on the vehicle and is able to receive radio signals that include transmitted radio signals reflected from objects in the environment. The processor samples the received radio signals to produce a sampled stream. The processor processes the sampled stream such that the sampled stream is correlated with various delayed versions of a baseband signal. The correlations are used to determine an improved range, velocity, and angle of targets in the environment.

Abstract: A level measurement instrument comprises an analog circuit for transmitting a pulse signal at a target of interest and receiving reflected echoes of the pulse signal and developing an echo waveform representative of the reflected echoes. A programmed digital circuit is operatively coupled to the analog circuit and comprises a programmed controller and memory. The controller is operatively programmed to identify peaks in the echo waveform and store an active peak list in the memory from a current measurement scan and a buffer peak list from prior measurement scans. The controller is further programmed to match peaks in the active peak list to peaks in the buffer peak list, to select a target peak from the active peak list based on which of the matched peaks have moved, and determining material level responsive to the target peak.

Abstract: A system for improving a basketball player's ability to shoot basketballs towards a basketball hoop having an improved ball sensor is disclosed. An interface allows a player to select various locations for a ball ejector to launch basketballs to. A hollow protrusion extends though the net of the basketball hoop and has a microphone positioned therein. A processor compares audio signals generated by said microphone to pre-recorded sample audio signals of a basketball passing through the net of the basketball hoop to determine if a basketball shot was successfully made.

Abstract: A small target phased array Doppler detection system receives signals from remote moving targets and determines Doppler frequency shift and the respective powers of coherent electromagnetic signals for the purpose of detection and identification of relatively small, slow moving targets in the presence of scattering echoes due to clutter. The system employs covariance analysis of the received signals followed by eigenanalysis to produce eigenvectors and eigenvalues. A superresolution algorithm creates dwell manifold vectors which indicate velocities of targets from the eigenvectors. The relative power of radar echoes contribute information relevant to the identification of real moving targets as opposed to false alarms.
