Abstract: A system comprises an overhead bin including a door configured to open and close an opening of the overhead bin for access to and securing of an interior space of the overhead bin. A latch mechanism operatively connects the opening of the overhead bin to the door of the overhead bin to secure the door to the opening in a closed position, and to release the door from the opening for access to the interior space. A touchless input sensor can be operatively connected to the latch mechanism and a controller can be operatively connected to the latch mechanism and the touchless input sensor.

Additionally, the implementations further include providing, based on the access intention information, access to one of the first secure area or the second secure area.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for bus computing systems, for example, for wrong stop loading/unloading. In one aspect, a method performed by a bus computing system for a bus includes: receiving, at a designated stop of a bus route of the bus, a student identifier (ID) from a student ID system when a student enters or exits the bus at the designated stop; determining whether the student is authorized to enter or exit the bus at the designated stop; and in response to determining that the student is not authorized to enter or exit the bus at the designated stop, alerting a driver of the bus, and presenting an override user interface element and/or a cancellation user interface element on the display for the driver to allow or refuse the student to enter or exit the bus at the designated stop.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device in which a processing system of a remote entry system selects a first circuit from a plurality of circuits of a key remote from the device; wirelessly transmits a first challenge signal to the key, the first challenge signal specifying the first circuit; and wirelessly receives a first response signal from the key, the first response signal having a first response signal power level and a first response signal delay with respect to the first challenge signal. The processing system analyzes the first response signal by comparing the first response signal power level and the first response signal delay respectively with a predetermined first signal power and predetermined first time delay associated with the first circuit; and, in accordance with the comparing, determines whether to enable the entry system. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: In biometric ticketing, physical token-less ticketing system using biometrics, a person may be identified using a digital representation of a biometric. Ticketing information may be ascertained based on the identification. The ticketing information may be provided, actions may be performed using the ticketing information, and so on. In some implementations, a checkpoint device receives biometric data from a person. A digital representation of the biometric data is used to obtain an identifier from an identification system. The digital representation of the biometric data may not be included in the identifier. The identifier is used by to obtain ticketing information from a ticketing system. The person may be allowed or denied entry into a ticketed area based on the ticketing information.

Abstract: A ticket exchange server is configured to monitor seat usage in a stadium during an event. The ticket exchange server provides a first ticket for a seat to a first client device in response to a request from a first user of the first client device. The ticket exchange server unlocks the seat in response to detecting a presence of the first user at the seat. The ticket exchange server receives an indication from the first user surrendering the seat prior to completion of the event and locks the seat. The ticket exchange server provides a second ticket for the seat for a remainder of the event to a second client device of a second user in response to a request for the seat from the second client device. The ticket exchange server unlocks the seat in response to detecting a presence of the second user at the seat.

Abstract: An access control terminal includes guidance members to establish an access lane having a signal- or blocking element and a multi-beam phased antenna array. An electronic gate controller is connected to the multi-beam phased antenna array to communicate via Bluetooth protocol with mobile Bluetooth communication devices. A proximity sensor is arranged within the access lane to detect a patron approaching an entry area of the access lane, and the gate controller is configured to enable data input supplied by the Bluetooth protocol via the multi beam phased antenna array after the proximity sensor indicates the presence of a patron to request transmission of the access credentials from the smartphone. The gate controller is configured to command the signal- or blocking element to move to the open state if the access credentials are validated and the field strength indicator (RSSI) values are within predefined limits.

Abstract: A system for operating a radio frequency identification (RFID) system includes a remotely operable access point at an authentication point. A first trigger sensor detects an RFID signal from an RFID device associated with a user at a first trigger distance from the authentication point. A controller responsive to a signal detected from the RFID device exchanges data with the RFID device and determines whether the RFID device is authorized. A second trigger sensor exchanges data with the RFID device at a second trigger distance closer to the authentication point than the first trigger distance. The controller is responsive to data received from the RFID device at the second trigger sensor to enable the controlled access barrier to grant access to the user at the access point after exchanging data with the RFID device at the second trigger sensor only if the user has been authenticated.
