The lens is retained by a screw-less retainer cap secured to the sign assembly.

摘要： A plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) disposed in a customized housing produce bright colored light simulating the appearance of a neon sign. The housing includes an opaque portion that reflects light from the LEDs and a translucent portion shaped in the form of an image or lettering that diffuses light from the LEDs. The inside surface of the opaque portion has a polished reflective surface while the outside surface has a dull textured surface. Light emanating from the LEDs propagates through the translucent portion of the housing appearing to a viewer as a bright uniform and colorful light similar in appearance to the light emitted from a neon sign.

摘要： A lighted sign for displaying address information includes a display for visually presenting address information, a power source for energizing the display, and an input device for obtaining address information to be displayed. The display includes a plurality of LED's. The sign includes a processor for actuating a first set of LED's to present the address information in a horizontal direction when the display is at a horizontal mode and for actuating a second set of LED's to present the address information in a vertical direction when the display is at a vertical mode. The sign further includes an orientation sensor in communication with the processor for selecting between horizontal and vertical modes. A light sensor is in communication the processor such that the LED's are actuated only under predetermined light conditions. The sign includes a mount for enabling the display to be moved between horizontal and vertical conditions.

Miniature, preferably LED lamps are concealed in the character. The life of the LED lamps is extended by limiting the applied voltage and the “on” time. The signage characters are usually elevated from their supporting surface, to effect back-lighting. Couloured LED's or a RBG LED, can be used selectively to colour the plastic signage.

摘要： A visual display sign having a lighting unit that provides high-efficiency light output from a non-point source of light. The reflector in the lighting unit is sealed and has a shaped reflecting surface obtained by generating a curve from a set of predetermined curve reference points. The shaped reflecting surface provides a light output efficiency of about 60 percent from a non-point source of light and spreads the emitted light about eight degrees from the plane of circumference of the reflector. The lighting units are attached to the visual display sign at a downward angle of about eight degrees from the horizontal.

The lamp member is formed with an outwardly extending flange which has an upper end abutting against a shoulder of the sleeve, and a lower end abutting against an upper end of the base while leaving a lower end portion of the base outside the sleeve. The upper end portion of the base is press fitted within a uniform-inner-diameter lower end portion of the sleeve in such a manner that the upper end portion of base has at least one portion which is located within the sleeve and which has an outer diameter slightly larger than the inner diameter of the lower end portion of the sleeve.

摘要： An optical display device for use with wearing apparel or in combination with novelty gifts for illumination thereof. The optical display device based upon a control circuit capable of energizing incandescent lamps attached to a conductive pathway. The control circuit having an IC based timing circuit with manual switches for lamp lighting mode sequence as well as sequencing speed. An alternative embodiment is disclosed using an EPROM IC chip wherein all sequencing and functional timing is performed by an instructional software program made operational upon manual switch toggling. The conductive pathway provides electrical coupling to the lamps with one embodiment having a pathway formed from flexible circuit boards. Use of flexible circuit boards permits simplistic color changing by use of peel-off covers placed over the lamps as well as protection from moisture, impact, or dislodgement of the lamps. The coupling of circuit boards across movable joints is by flexible wire or conductor tape. Placement of the flexible circuit boards on the active limbs of a body in motion enhances the optical display thereby illuminating the wearer for ornamental or safety purposes. Alternative to the circuit board is the use of a conductive ink, preferably silver, which is directly impregnated onto the object. Conductive ink is especially suitable for wearing apparel such as t-shirts wherein a silk screen is used for background and the lamps highlight the design.

摘要： In a lighting system, comprising a cable with accessible electrical conductors, a holder to be clamped on the cable, and a lamp holder with lamp, the lamp provides a force via the lamp holder to the conductors to make an electrical contact therewith. Preferably the cable has a substantially H-shaped section with cavities that partly enclose the conductors. The holder preferably has a substantially U-shaped section, with legs clamping around the cable. The lamp holder is formed by a pair of contact springs, which are pivotably mounted in the holder, to make at one end contact with the conductors and at the other end to contact the lamp.
