    摘要: A fret press system can install one or more frets in grooves of a substrate with a press connected to a caul. The fret may be positioned atop the groove prior to contacting the fret with a caul by operating the press. The fret may initially be forced into the groove with the caul with a first pressure before an incorrect fret position in the groove is detected with a sensor connected to the press. The caul can then be adjusting to correct the sensed incorrect fret position and subsequently used to finish installing the fret in the groove prior to a position of the fret in the groove being confirmed with the sensor.

    摘要: Method for manufacturing a musical instrument string includes positioning an elongate wrap wire in a position to be wound about an elongate core wire having a round cross-sectional shape, the core wire including a core, a coating surrounding the core and a cylindrical outer surface. Winding of the wrap wire about the core wire is performed under winding conditions to cause the wrap wire to form a helical impression in the coating in which the wrap wire is situated. Material of the coating is selected to enable the coating to flow and form the impression and move upward into spaces between adjacent wrap wire windings. The winding conditions include tension on the core wire, tension on the wrap wire, winding speed and a temperature to which the core wire and/or wrap wire are heated. Glue or another adhesive is not used to bond the wrap wire and the core wire.

    摘要: This invention describes a new Modular Multi-Plate Stringed Instrument Body Architecture that utilizes a front plate or plurality of front plates, a back plate or plurality of back plates, and central stiffening and connecting assembly and/or spacer blocks that connect the plates and distribute the forces created by string tension throughout the system in order to create an instrument body that is light weight, modular, modifiable and repairable. The use of modern composites such as carbon fiber allows for the instrument body to be designed as a beam structure such that the stiffness, resonance, and tone of the system can be controlled by varying the thickness, geometry, and material of the plates and connecting members. Said assembly can be dismantled and components changed to meet the user's needs and desires giving increased control over performance parameters compared to existing designs.
