A method for processing a silver halide color photographic photosensitive material comprises the steps of desilverizing a photosensitive silver halide material having at least one red-sensitive layer, green-sensitive layer and blue-sensitive layer respectively on one side of a transparent support and a magnetic recording layer containing magnetic grains on the other side after the color development and then washing it with water and/or stabilizing it, wherein a bath having fixing function used in the desilverization step contains the following compound or analogue thereof. ##STR1## This method does not impair the S/N ratio of the magnetically recorded information and excellent desilverization effect can be obtained.

In a photographic camera, a combined light source/magnetic head writes data into a magnetic recording material of a photographic filmstrip in a data track and exposes a guide track in a predetermined location relative to the data track during advancement of the filmstrip. The filmstrip is advanced past the combined light source/magnetic head and the light source is energized to optically expose the guide track while the magnetic head is operated to write the data. After processing of the filmstrip, the guide track is made visible. A processor can receive the filmstrip and use the guide track to properly position a magnetic read head in proper relation to the recorded data track to retrieve the data.

A dispersion consisting essentially of magnetic particles, a dialkylester of phthalic acid which functions as a dispersing medium, and optionally, a dispersing agent is particularly useful as a precursor to a composition suitable for casting onto a cellulose acid ester support film to form a transparent magnetic recording layer for use in photographic films. The dispersion provides magnetic recording layers exhibiting fewer particle agglomerations and reduced light scattering and photographic prints prepared from films containing such magnetic layers exhibit virtually no increase in graininess attributable to the magnetic recording layer.

The invention relates to an apparatus and a method of contact-free, almost continuous measurement and monitoring of the width, thickness and position of magnetic tracks on moving film strips within wide limits of the speed. The track width and track position of the magnetic tracks are measured optically and the magnetically acting track cross section is measured electromagnetically via the track volume. The measured values are together recorded, evaluated and displayed and/or used for recontrolling the casting arrangement for emitting warning signals or for stopping the coating machine.
