摘要： A precision positioning device 1 having degrees of freedom along multi-axial directions includes a single unitary structure 2 and a plurality of expansion/contraction actuators 4a, 4b, and 4c. Movements of an object-to-be-positioned in the axial directions are effected through such elastic deformations of the unitary structure 2 as to move the object-to-be-positioned only in the axial directions. Forces to generate the elastic deformations are based on expansion/contraction of the expansion/contraction actuators 4a, 4b, and 4c incorporated in the unitary structure 2. The expansion/contraction actuators 4a, 4b, and 4c can be formed of piezoelectric elements.

摘要： A thermoscopic unit such as for use in a thermostat of a fluid mixing valve comprising a hollow body in which a cylindrical convoluted bellows unit is located and sealed to the body to define an expansion chamber in which a thermally responsive material, such as wax, is contained. Temperature changes resulting in a change of volume of the material in the expansion chamber apply an external pressure to change the axial length of the bellows unit, and this may be operably connected to an actuator for a valve assembly. Preferably, there is a reservoir of the material constituted by a tubular coil encircling the hollow body, or a hollow cone extending therefrom. Such reservoir is filled with the material and is in communication with the expansion chamber and provides additional heat transfer surfaces to give fast response to temperature changes.

摘要： A bellows assembly and method of making the assembly are disclosed. The assembly comprises a bellows head including thin walled flexible members which are joined to define an expansible chamber. An anchor fitting attaches and communicates the bellows head to a capillary tube and an expansible fluid occupies the tube and chamber. A base supports the bellows head and capillary tube with the anchor fitting interconnecting the bellows head, tube and base. The anchor fitting is bonded to the diaphragm member and capillary tube and deformably engages the base plate to clamp the base plate to the bellows head.

摘要： A low pressure indicator switch assembly for a pressure vessel of a vehicle air cushion restraint system which includes a body member with a threaded passage communicating with the interior of the pressure vessel. A Bourdon tube has an orificed end portion. A mounting bolt with a threaded shank extends through the orificed end portion and into the threaded passage of the body member to mount the end portion of the Bourdon tube to the body member. The threaded shank of the mounting bolt and the threaded passage of the pressure vessel define therebetween a passage for communicating pressure between the pressure vessel and the Bourdon tube. The assembly further includes contact means which is adapted to be connected with a warning device which is operatively controlled by the Bourdon tube for actuating the warning device when the pressure of the pressure vessel is below a predetermined pressure.

摘要： A thermal element of a simple structure which can have a reduced cost because a minimum required number of structural components are used, excels in response and endurance and enables forward and backward movement of a piston with the prescribed stroke under the effect of volume changes following the expansion and contraction of a thermally expandable body. The inward end of the piston borders on the inside of the thermally expandable body and the outward end thereof protrudes outwardly from one end of the case, thereby enabling the piston to move forward and backward following the expansion and contraction of the thermally expandable body. The piston is slidably held with a guide member 14 disposed in a portion at one end inside the case. Furthermore, a sealing member 15 is disposed in a portion at the inward end of the guide member inside the case and seals the thermally expandable body at the other end inside the case.
