    摘要: A decontamination assembly (1) for pharmaceutical applications, comprising an isolator (2) having a manipulator chamber (3) and a plenum chamber (4) which is disposed above the manipulator chamber (3) and which can be supplied with an air flow (9) via at least one circulation fan (7) disposed in a circulating-air generation chamber, a membrane (5) for generating a laminar air flow (11) in the manipulator chamber (3) during a working operating state being disposed between the plenum chamber (4) and the manipulator chamber (3), the manipulator chamber (3) being connected to the circulating-air generation chamber (6) in an air-conducting manner via a return-air channel (12), further comprising ultrafine distributing means (19), for producing a decontaminant/air mixture based on a liquid decontaminant stock, a stock of H2O2, the ultrafine distributing means (19) being connected to the plenum chamber (4) via at least one plenum supply line (25) leading into the plenum chamber (4) so as to directly supply the plenum chamber (4) with the decontaminant/air mixture when in a decontamination operating state, wherein the ultrafine distributing means (19) are connected directly to the manipulator chamber (3) via at least one manipulator supply line (27) so as to directly supply the manipulator chamber (3) with the decontaminant/air mixture when in the decontamination operating state.

    摘要: Certain exemplary embodiments can provide a system comprising a substantially transparent radiation shield, which comprises transparent ammonium metatungstate. The transparent ammonium metatungstate can have a density of greater than 1.5 gram/(cubic centimeter). The substantially transparent radiation shield can be installed on tanks and/or pressure vessels, used as a transparent radiation shield in medical shielding/devices, used as windows in glove boxes, and any application where effective radiation shielding is needed with transparency. The substantially transparent radiation shield can be used in one or more articles worn by a human.

    摘要: A glove box has an enclosure having a glass window top and gloves mounted to the front wall. The enclosure can be tilted to so that one or other, or both, of the work piece and the window can be placed at an angle such as may facilitate processing. The glove box has an environmental control system to both to permit flushing with inert or other desired gases, and to permit heating or cooling. The workstand may have cooling passages as well. Controls are mounted inside the enclosure chamber to permit the operator to change working parameters without removing his or her hands from the gloves. A parameter status display may be located outside the enclosure. The window may be provided with a movable smoked glass filter for use during welding. The workstand may be independently adjustable for angle within the enclosure. The glove box has electrical and cooling service penetrations to permit use of a welding electrode.

    摘要: An apparatus for posting materials into and out of an enclosure through a port in a wall of the enclosure. A container for the materials has a lid engageable with a door for the port and the container is supported in a cradle. An interlock bar extends between the port and a clamp assembly for the container, the bar being axially displaceable between first and second positions. In the first position of the bar one end thereof arrests movement of a door release mechanism and the bar is locked against axial displacement in the absence of a container in the cradle. In the second position of the bar the opposite end thereof engages and locks the clamp assembly for maintaining the container at the port.

    摘要: An improved structure of a section for mounting a replacement such as a filter, glove, bag or the like on a wall of a shielding box in which a material such as a radioactive or other hazardous material or the like, and/or an apparatus impossible of direct contact with a hand are disposed. The mounting section comprises a cylindrical fixed port secured to the wall, and a cylindrical replacement port having the replacement and adapted to be fitted into the fixed port. A plurality of rubber or the like elastic rings spaced from each other in an axial direction are sealingly disposed in a compressively deformed state between the two ports. Thus, renewal can be achieved by pushing out a spent replacement port with another, as needed.

    摘要: A shielded cell for the safe manipulation of objects or materials which present hazards arising from radioactive radiation or other causes and which are to be isolated from the environment. The construction of the cell entails the use of a small number of different types of standard reversible elements of maximum size which are designed for reuse and are provided in particular with penetrations located in accordance with operating requirements. The elements to be interassembled by known means for ensuring compliance with shielding requirements are essentially endowed with shapes related to a square unit of which one side is a suitable multiple of the common thickness of said elements, to rectangular elements each having a length corresponding to one side of said square unit of a width corresponding to simple submultiples thereof, a cornerpost provided with means for assembly and fastening at right angles, and rectangular elements adapted to carry overlap slabs for covering said cells.
