摘要： A containment system and method for creating a confined space around a portion of a piping circuit, and for maintaining the confined space at a designated pressure with a pressurized blanketing gas. The confined spaced with its controlled environment protects against process upsets or icing when insulation is removed from sections in extreme temperature services. The containment system includes a shroud assembly that is made up of a cover configured into a tubular shape, and end plates on axial ends of the cover that mount onto the piping. Support rings are set within the cover that also mount to the pipe, and which provide radial support for the cover along the span between the end plates. Ports are formed through a sidewall of the cover that provide operations personnel access to the piping. Lines carrying the pressurized blanketing gas connect to inlets formed in the cover sidewall.

摘要： A bag-like contaminant control work module formed from a flexible impervious membrane which is inflated inside of an enclosed workspace to protect workers in the module from contaminants. The workspace, such as in a nuclear power steam generator, has a portal or manway opening into the workspace into which the module is secured by a module passageway. The module includes one or more glove boxes, in which the workers perform their assigned tasks after passing through the passageway and portal. The module includes one or more absolute filters allowing passage of air flow through the module passageway and into the workspace only through the filters. The module may include an auxiliary passageway secured to the outside of the module passageway and also secured in the portal opening and through which items can be passed back and forth to the worker in the glove box from outside the portal. The module is invertible so that it can be pulled out of the workspace trapping all the contaminants therein and disposed of without handling the contaminants.

摘要： A glove box has an enclosure having a glass window top and gloves mounted to the front wall. The enclosure can be tilted to so that one or other, or both, of the work piece and the window can be placed at an angle such as may facilitate processing. The glove box has an environmental control system to both to permit flushing with inert or other desired gases, and to permit heating or cooling. The workstand may have cooling passages as well. Controls are mounted inside the enclosure chamber to permit the operator to change working parameters without removing his or her hands from the gloves. A parameter status display may be located outside the enclosure. The window may be provided with a movable smoked glass filter for use during welding. The workstand may be independently adjustable for angle within the enclosure. The glove box has electrical and cooling service penetrations to permit use of a welding electrode.

摘要： A system of monitoring a black cell environment using sensors is presented, in which the sensors can be easily replaced during a sealed period of the black cell environment. The black-cell monitoring system includes at least one sealed vessel that is disposed within the black cell environment. The vessel is configured to store a hazardous mixed substance and is sealed from the external environment for a pre-determined amount of time. The black-cell monitoring system also includes at least one tubing that extends from the outside of the vessel to the inside of the vessel. The black-cell monitoring system also includes a fiber optic cable that is disposed within the lumen of the tubing. At least a portion of the fiber optic cable is disposed within a portion of the tubing located inside the sealed vessel.
