摘要： The present invention is a reinforced connection between a distributor body and a distributor cap. The distributor cap rests on the distributor body as in the conventional arrangements. However, an additional clamp is provided to mount over the interface between the distributor cap and distributor sandwiching the components there between. A screw/bolt passes through the clamp and through both the cap and distributor body and engages a threaded portion of the clamp. By simply tightening the screw/bolt, the cap and distributor are clamped together without inducing concentrated stresses in the distributor body. The clamp may be used in a retrofit application to strengthen the existing connection between the cap and distributor body, repair the connection in a cracked or otherwise damaged distributor, or installed as part of an original equipment design.

摘要： A switch device having uniform operability includes an operating member which is rockably stopped by a case, a rubber spring including four spring sections which are disposed at peripheral edges of the operating member inside the case, respectively, and three switches which are disposed in correspondence with three of the four spring sections. The spring sections are selectively actuated two at a time as a result of rocking the operating member in one direction. In the switch device, the spring sections are actuated and buckled by operating the operating member in order to switch the switches. In addition, the click ratio of the spring section which is not provided with a switch is greater than the click ratios of the spring sections which are provided with the switches.

摘要： An appliance controller and its control shaft as well as a method for attaching a control knob to a control shaft are presented. The controller includes a control shaft body having a central bore and including at its forward end two cantilevers having outwardly facing detents. These detents are adapted to engage an engagement slot of a control knob. The control shaft body also includes at its rearward end two slots forming rear cantilevers having positioning detents. A locking rod is positioned within the bore of the control shaft body. It has a forward end adapted to prevent inward deflection of the forward cantilevers when it is in a locked position. This forward end is further adapted to preclude outward deflection of these cantilevers during insertion. The rearward end of the locking rod includes radially extending tabs which prevent the locking rod from being removed from the housing of the controller. This configuration allows for the securing of the control knob on the shaft from the front of the appliance by simply inserting the knob on the end of the shaft, and pushing the shaft to its retracted position. The positioning detents are then forced to engage the radially extending tabs to lock the rod in the locked position, preventing subsequent removal of the knob.

In accordance with a rotating position of the rotating terminal, the pair of fixed terminals can be switched between an electrically-conducting condition, in which the pair of fixed terminals are electrically connected together through the rotating terminal, and an interrupting condition in which the pair of fixed terminals are not electrically connected together through the rotating terminal.

摘要： A windshield wiper drive apparatus includes a non-electrical contact position detector of the wiper inwipe position. A magnet is rotated by the wiper drive gear and moves past a magnetically responsive sensor mounted within the drive housing to detect the inwipe position of the wipers. In one aspect, a rotatable cam is mounted in the housing and carries the magnet. Interengaging members on the drive gear and the cam cause rotation of the cam in only the normal direction of rotation of the drive gear. Any back movement of the drive gear through interfering contact of the wiper blades with an obstruction separates the drive gear interengaging member from the cam preventing movement of the cam.
