摘要： A switch device with an indicator, in which the indication resolution for the operation amount of a switch can be increased without increasing the number of light emitting elements of the indicator and with a low cost, is provided. The switch device includes an LED which emits light when the operation state of a knob of the switch corresponds to a first state and an LED which emits light when the operation state of a knob of the switch corresponds to a second state. When the operation state of the knob lies between the first and second states, at least one of the amount and color of light emission from the LEDs is changed in order to indicate an intermediate operation state of the switch.

摘要： An illuminable keyboard includes a plurality of lights, such as electroluminescent lights, sized and positioned to illuminate one or more of the individual keys on a keyboard. More than one electroluminescent light may be included on an individual key to thereby allow different portions of the key to be illuminated. Each of the electroluminescent lights may be controlled independently of the other lights. A controller for controlling each of the electroluminescent lights allows a computer to activate selected ones of the lights, control the brightness of the selected lights, and also the color of the individually illuminated lights.

摘要： A switch status sensor is provided for counting on/off events of a switch of a water meter. When an on/off event is detected by a microcontroller, the microcontroller supplies a “signature” signal, which is distinguishable from electromagnetic noise, to the switch. If this “signature” signal is detected as having passed through the switch by the microcontroller, then it can be confirmed that the switch is closed. Alternatively, if the “signature” signal is not detected as having passed through the switch by the microcontroller, then it is verified that the switch is open. Thus, the switch status sensor can distinguish between false switch events caused by electromagnetic noise and true on/off events of the switch.

The push button assembly includes a base which at least partially encloses a printed circuit. A plurality of solid state light sources are connected with the printed circuit. A display is illuminated by light from the solid state light sources. One or more electrical circuit components, which emit heat, are connected with the printed circuit. A metal heat sink is disposed adjacent to the electrical circuit components. The metal heat sink engages a metal housing which encloses a display which is illuminated by light from the solid state light sources.

A microswitch 4 is actuated by an operative plunger 2, and LEDs 14 are mounted on the same circuit board 5. A metal plate 12 is attached into the internal space of the operative plunger 2. According to this configuration, inward bending of the operative plunger 2 due to a shock or the like is prevented from occurring, and engagement between engaging holes 3b of a case 3 and engaging protrusions 2a of the operative plunger 2 is prevented from being cancelled.
