Abstract:
A switching assembly comprises a pair of fixed contacts, and a contact bridge movable between a bridging position in which the contact bridge electrically connects the contacts and a separated position in which the contacts are electrically separated. A detector of the assembly includes at least one sensor for detecting the presence of the contact bridge in at least one of the separated position or the bridging position, and a controller operatively connected to the sensor and having a first switching point and a second switching point. One of the switching points is associated with a position of the contact bridge between the bridging position and the separated position.

A detection device that detects resetting of an electric circuit breaker. The electric circuit breaker comprises fixed and moving contacts, the moving contact being movable between an open position and a closed position, a mechanism for separating the contacts, a lever for resetting the mechanism from the open position to the closed position of the moving contact, and an actuator for actuating the separator mechanism, the actuator including an electromagnetic coil and a core movable between an idle position and a working position in which the separating mechanism is actuated, the coil causing the moving core to move from idle position to working position. The detection device may comprise means to generate a resetting indication signal from an electric pulse corresponding to an electric current induced in the coil by the movement of the moving core from its working position to its idle position during resetting of the circuit breaker.

Device, circuit, system, and method for arc suppression. A contact separation detector is configured to output an indication of a separation state of a pair of electrical contacts. A contact bypass circuit, coupled to the contact separation detector, is configured to provide an electrical bypass between the pair of contacts based on the indication.
Abstract:
An operation detection device for an overcurrent protection component is provided. The overcurrent protection component has a closed state and an open state and outputs a transition event responsive to a transition between the closed state and the open state. The operation detection device includes a housing configured to attach to the overcurrent protection component. A sensor is positioned in the housing at a location selected to allow the sensor to detect the transition event. A switch circuit is operatively coupled to the sensor and is configured to generate an output signal indicating a change in state of the overcurrent protection component responsive to detection of the transition event by the sensor.
Abstract:
An electrical switching device has a state indicator which is covered or uncovered in accordance with the state of the switching device. In order to reduce the amount of moved masses, the state indicator remains in a resting position during a switching process of the electrical switching device. The state indicator can be covered at least in part by the movable switching contact pieces of the electrical switching device, for example.
Abstract:
A pedal displacement sensor includes an actuating lever and a switching element. The actuating lever is arranged in a housing, is rotatably supported on a rotational axis, and can be rotated by a pedal. The actuating element of the switching element is actuated by rotating the actuating lever. The housing of the pedal displacement sensor has an opening. The actuating lever extends through the opening to an end which engages the pedal. The actuating lever includes first and second arms which form an angle lever. The first arm is rotatably supported in the housing. The second arm extends through the opening to an end face which contacts the pedal lever. The actuating lever preferably also acts upon a transducer such as a Hall sensor and a permanent magnet.
Abstract:
Switching devices can have means for contactless switching position detection. According to the invention, magnetic field sensors arranged at suitable locations inside and/or outside a device housing are provided for switching position detection. In particular, position-dependent magnetic fields are measured for ON/OFF position detection, overcurrent triggering, and contact welding; however, the magnetic field of the current flowing is detected to recognize short-circuit triggering. Differential Hall effect sensors and Reed contacts, respectively, can be used for these purposes. In addition, a sound sensor can be provided for detecting the switching noise, whose signal is evaluated together with the overcurrent triggering signal for short-circuit detection.
