Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a coupling device for coupling two or more tab electric terminals of distinct battery cells. A pair of U-shaped jaws retains the terminals therebetween with the electrical contact surfaces facing each other. A clamping element is configured to clamp the jaws towards each other in the first direction. During the clamping, an inclined wedge surface converts the pressure in the first direction to a pressure on the terminals in a second direction, so as to establish a reliable electrical contact between the terminals, direct or with the interposition of a spacing block. Wedge surfaces can be provided laterally, for example in the arms of the jaws, or between distinct bodies forming a spacing block between the terminals.

Abstract: A semiconductor device structure and method for forming the same is disclosed. The structure incudes a silicon substrate having at least one trench disposed therein. An electrical and ionic insulating layer is disposed over at least a top surface of the substrate. A plurality of energy storage device layers is formed within the one trench. The plurality of layers includes at least a cathode-based active electrode having a thickness of, for example, at least 100 nm and an internal resistance of, for example, less than 50 Ohms/cm2. The method includes forming at least one trench in a silicon substrate. An electrical and ionic insulating layer(s) is formed and disposed over at least a top surface of the silicon substrate. A plurality of energy storage device layers is formed within the trench. Each layer of the plurality of energy storage device layers is independently processed and integrated into the trench.

Abstract: Provided are multilayered flexible battery interconnects for interconnecting batteries in battery packs and methods of fabricating thereof. A multilayered flexible battery interconnect comprises insulating layers and two conductive layers, stacked together and positioned between the insulating layers. One conductive layer is thicker than the other. The thinner conductive layer comprises flexible tabs for connecting to batteries and, in some examples, comprises voltage sense traces. The smaller thickness of these flexible tabs ensures welding quality and allows using less energy during welding. The battery cell contacts, to which these flexible tabs are welded, can be significantly thicker. Furthermore, the smaller thickness enables fusible link integration into flexible tabs. At the same time, the two conductive layers collectively conduct current within the interconnect, with the thicker layer enhancing the overall current-carrying capacity. The two conductive layers can be welded together to ensure electric connections and mechanical support.

Abstract: A package for a power storage device includes at least one laminated packaging material having first and second sections. The packaging material includes a metallic foil layer, a heat-resistant resin layer, and a heat-fusible resin layer. In a state in which the heat-fusible resin layers of the first and second sections are faced, peripheral edges thereof are heat-sealed to form a storage chamber for accommodating a device main body. One of the sections is extended outside the storage chamber to form a conductive flange having an exposed heat-fusible resin layer. The conductive flange is provided with an external conductive section in which the heat-fusible resin layer is partially removed to expose the metallic foil layer. The packaging material having the external conductive section is provided with an internal conductive section in the storage chamber in which the heat-fusible resin layer is partially removed to expose the metallic foil layer.

Abstract: A battery structure has structure anode and cathode contacts on a front face and on a rear face. The battery structure includes a battery having battery anode and cathode contacts only on a front face thereof. A film including a conductive layer and an insulating layer jackets the battery. The conductive layer extends over the battery anode and cathode contacts and is interrupted therebetween. Openings are provided in the insulating layer on the front and rear faces of the battery structure to form the structure anode and cathode contacts of the battery structure.
