    摘要: A synchronous machine for power and/or voltage control comprises a stator with a stator winding and a rotor with a field winding. The stator winding comprises a high-voltage cable with solid insulation. A rotor has a thermally based rotor current limit intersecting with a thermally based stator current limit in a capability graph at a power factor considerably below the rated power factor or has the thermally based rotor current limit above the thermally based stator current limit. In the capability graph. Means are provided for limiting the currents in order to avoid thermal damage. In a method for power and/or voltage control of such a synchronous machine, the machine operates with the stator current exceeding the thermally based stator current limit for a certain time period less than the maxim an permissible time limit, whereafter the overload is reduced by reduction of either the active power or the field current or a combination of both.

    摘要: A method is for protecting a DC generator against overvoltage in the event of a loss of load. A voltage limit value is defined and, when starting the current generator, one or a few small current pulses are generated during an initial phase. The voltage is measured across the output of the current generator during the initial phase and the voltages measured across the output of the current generator are compared with the voltage limit value. There is a changeover to normal operation only if all the voltages across the output of the current generator measured during the initial phase are below the voltage limit value. The current generation is interrupted and a loss of load is indicated if any one of the voltages across the output of the current generator measured during the initial phase exceeds the voltage limit value.

    摘要: A voltage regulator for an a.c. generator produces a power generation ratio signal having a duty ratio corresponding to the current supply to the field winding of the a.c. generator. This power generation ratio signal is applied to an external apparatus through a signal wire. The duty ratio of the power generation ratio signal is more than 10% when the a.c. generator is normal. When abnormality is detected, the power generation ratio signal is partly masked by an abnormality detection signal so that the duty ratio of the power generation signal is reduced to be less than 10% and this change may be detected by the external apparatus. Alternatively, the power generation ratio signal may be transmitted only intermittently when the abnormality is detected.

It has a voltage source, a rectifier, three phase windings, an evaluation unit, and a voltage regulator. The evaluation unit has three input terminals, and each of these input terminals is connected to one of the phase windings. The evaluation unit is intended for evaluating the phase voltages derived from the three phase windings, in order to detect error functions of the rectifier and/or of the phase windings. If such unauthorized work states are detected, then via the voltage regulator, the exciter current flowing through the exciter winding is reduced.

    摘要: A system and method for sensing alternator current levels are disclosed. The system includes the combination including an operational amplifier having an input and an output, an input resistor connecting the input to a signal indicative of an alternator current level, and a feedback resistor connected between the input and the output. The system further includes an adjustment resistor and a switching element coupled in series between the input and the output, in parallel with the feedback resistor, and a processor coupled to the output. The processor is operable, based upon a current indication related to a level of alternator current indicated at the output, to control the operation of the switching element such that the switching element is closed when the current indication increases to exceed a first threshold, and such that the switching element is opened when the current indication decreases to fall below a second threshold.

The operation of the DCDC converter 3 is controlled so as to operate at the point of Vt=V13 where the output current I is lower.

    摘要: An output stage of a conventional Frequency-on-Demand electronic voltage regulator, such as a voltage regulator of the type described in U.S. Pat. No. 5,642,033, is reconfigured as a bi-stable multivibrator, or flip-flop. An oscillator provides a reset pulse of pre-defined pulse width and pulse period to initiate an “on” period of the output stage; a conventional error amplifier synchronously switches the output stage “off” when a system voltage reaches a preset value. Voltage regulation by a constant-frequency, pulse-width-modulated, output signal is thus realized at reduced cost and complexity. Total capacitance between the gate-source terminals of a preferred MOS power output transistor serves to slow both negative- and positive-going output control signal transitions, introducing a minimum of electrical noise into the vehicle's electrical system.

The power frequency blocking circuit is practically implemented for a 60 Hz power supply operating frequency. The power frequency blocking circuit provides an equivalent impedance of 100 ohms at the 60 Hz operating frequency, and the power frequency blocking circuit equivalent impedance is on the order of 1-2 ohms at frequencies above 1000 Hz where spike conduction is required. The power frequency blocking circuit is placed between each power supply terminal and ground. The circuit is comprised of a parallel combination resistor and capacitor.
