摘要: A propulsion system (100) comprises: a generator (30) driven by a shaft (22) of a thermal engine (20) and configured to generate electrical power; an induction motor (60) that is electrically coupled to the output of the generator (30) and is configured to generate a rotational output in response to electrical power provided by the generator (30); a generator control unit (40) that is configured to control an output voltage of the generator (30) to limit a current supplied to the induction motor (60) during start-up of the propulsion system (100); and a switch (50) that is electrically coupled between the generator (30) and the induction motor (60), wherein the switch (50) is controllable by the generator control unit (40).

摘要: An AC to DC conversion device has first and second AC input terminals arranged to be coupled respectively to first and second terminals of a phase of an AC current generator, an H-bridge rectification device comprising two pairs of diodes, each pair being coupled to a respective one of the AC terminals to produce a DC output comprising a rectified back EMF waveform, and a waveform generator. The waveform generator comprises an output coupled to the DC output of the H-bridge rectification device, and is configured to input a unidirectional waveform to the DC output having the same magnitude and fundamental frequency as the rectified back EMF, phase shifted by a predetermined angle relative to the rectified back EMF waveform.

摘要: A method of controlling a permanent magnet synchronous electric machine (PMSM) drive using a Deadbeat Predictive Current Control (DBPCC) scheme is provided. The method comprises: determining d-axis and q-axis stator current values (id, iq) representative of a measured PMSM current; determining d-axis and q-axis reference current values (id*, iq*); based on the stator current values (id, iq) and the reference current values (id*, iq*), determining d-axis and q-axis current correction values (Cd, Cq); determining corrected reference current values (id**, iq**) as a sum of the reference current values (id*, iq*) and the current correction values (Cd, Cq); and controlling the PMSM drive using the corrected reference current values (id**, iq**) as reference current inputs of the DBPCC scheme. A controller for performing the method; a system comprising the controller, a PMSM and associated power electronics; and a computer program for performing the method are also provided.

摘要: Systems and methods for voltage regulation of high voltage direct current systems are provided. In certain embodiments, a system includes a generator that generates alternating current (AC) voltage. The system further includes a power converter that converts the AC voltage into regulated direct current (DC) voltage. Also, the system includes a voltage regulator. In additional embodiments, the voltage regulator includes an AC voltage regulator that regulates the AC voltage generated by the generator. Also, the voltage regulator includes a DC voltage regulator that regulates the DC voltage produced by the power converter. Moreover, the voltage regulator includes a regulator selector that selectively activates one of the AC voltage regulator and the DC voltage regulator based on a current from the power converter and at least one of a voltage of the generator and a voltage of the power converter.

摘要: A high-integrity electromechanical actuator control system includes a system function controller, a plurality of actuator controllers, and at least one electromechanical actuator. Each actuator controller includes a first controller, a second controller, and a duty cycle computation circuit. The first controller receives digital actuator control commands supplied from two of the function control channels and supplies first digital duty cycle commands. The second controller receives digital actuator control commands supplied from two function control channels and supplies second digital duty cycle commands. The duty cycle computation circuit receives the first digital duty cycle commands and the second digital duty cycle commands, computes an average of the first and second duty cycle commands, and generates pulse width modulated (PWM) commutation control signals based on the computed average.

摘要: A variable wobbler plate has a stub shaft and a pivot shaft. The pivot shaft has a smaller diameter portion and a larger diameter portion. The smaller diameter portion has a generally cylindrical outer periphery with a flat over a limited circumferential extent and a diameter to opposed portions of the generally cylindrical portion defining a first distance. A second distance is defined from an end of the smaller diameter portion spaced furthest from the stub shaft to an end of the larger diameter portion spaced closest to the stub shaft and measured along a central axis of the pivot shaft and defines a second distance. A ratio of the first distance to the second distance is between 0.60 and 0.75. An integrated drive generator and a method are also disclosed.

摘要: An aircraft starting and generating system includes a starter/generator that includes a main machine, an exciter, and a permanent magnet generator. The system also includes an inverter/converter/controller that is connected to the starter/generator and that generates AC power to drive the starter/generator in a start mode for starting a prime mover of the aircraft, and that converts AC power, obtained from the starter/generator after the prime mover have been started, to DC power in a generate mode of the. A load-leveling unit (LLU) is selectively coupled with a DC power output from the starter/generator and has an inverter/converter/controller (ICC) with an LLU metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET)-based bridge configuration that supplies DC power to the DC power output in a supply mode, and that receives DC power from the DC power output, in a receive mode. A LLU bridge gate driver is configured to drive the LLU MOSFET-based bridge during a supply mode and a receive mode using bi-polar pulse width modulation (PWM).
